Anthony Alicea
Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, now married and living in upstate New York, Tony is primarily focused these days on trying to be a good husband. While inexperienced at that, he's quite experienced in all things web.
Tony has been programming since he was 12 years old, and got into web sites and web application development at 16. After graduating with a Computer Science degree from Case Western Reserve University, Tony continued with that interest as a software application developer and architect, database designer, and user interface designer.
His 25 years of experience has ranged across technologies such as modern semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, Vue, Node.js, SQL as well as user experience design, usability testing and more.
He believes strongly that deeply understanding any topic allows you to properly learn it and, even more importantly in a real-world environment, quickly overcome problems.
He also has a deep interest in human nature and behavior, and how that impacts human-computer interaction. This interest translated into extending his career into user experience design and usability research.
Another link in the chain is his 25 years of experience in public speaking and teaching, both in front of large groups and as a one-on-one private instructor.

Content is good ,but lots of exercises in between, keep few assignments that will cover all the topics

I'm not sure whether this is the ideal first course to take on HTML and CSS, but if you come with some knowledge, it may be really rewarding. The instructor goes a long way to demystify (and actually show) specifications, and maybe it is his repeated call to actually look at them which might be one of the most valuable lession to take away from the course. The instructor puts emphasis on using semantic HTML, and the coverage of CSS seems to be up-to-date, including recent additions to the standard. The course may be lacking a bit on practical examples, but the two projects presented near the end are very instructive. Overall, I found the instructor to relay the content in an engaging manner.

It is really an amazing course, I have some knowledge on HTML & CSS before enrolling this course. I enrolled in this course after watching the intro video. Few positives are -> When to use a tag. -> What is the advantage of using semantic tags. -> I don't have any idea that there is HTML & CSS specification before I enrolled in this course. The only documentation I used to refer for any questions is mdn docs. Not much of negatives but the only thing I will say is, it will be a lot better if there are more projects to practice. One suggestion which I would give the other students who are thinking to do this course is, if you didn't understand something, just watch it again with full concentration. It will really help you understand.

Thank you Tony for a fantastic journey! Like most developers I thought I knew the basic HTML concepts enough to produce working pages, and was only brave enough with CSS to modify existing stylesheets, but I was nervous about doing much more and messing up the design. But this course has really changed all that, you've done a wonderful job of explaining and showing how everything works and how it all fits together, and it's all built on a foundation of the fundamental concepts of the technologies. Thank you for your unique approach, how you've put together and executed the course, and the many helpful examples and exercises.

This course and this man that teaching the course I just don't know how to describe them, there's no words can describe the ability that this course will give you, the course will teach you how to understand things under the hood, how to write html and css that will make everyone really want work with whether if you are a client, a browser user agent, another developer or human being user, it will make everyone happy to work with, I just hope when the author updates the course to takes care of the lighthouse extension because it will add a lot to this course, really thanks in advance.

Quite elaborate course. In my opinion a kind of too much academic style, too much unnecessary terminology, and a kind of not enough direct examples of what is being talked about - difficult to understand what is being talked about, what is meant. The part on the Z-Index is an example for that. The sources of HTML and CSS are shown, but I didn't understand what is the structure of these sources, how can I search for somethng there. Still, here you will hear about important, fundamental things, that are not mentioned in other courses - I took that of Jonas Schmedtmann, the 1-st part on HTML and CSS.

Siento que quizá no es un curso para begginers, ya que intenta explicar todo en mucha profundidad y la práctica es casi nula (todos sabemos que es esencial aplicar por repeteición para así aprender!). Tony es un experto, y de eso no puedo decir mucho más.

The course has delivered according to the expectations. Good structure, teaching approach, explanations and animations. I'd recommend to the author if possible, some quizzes to test the gained knowledge. That's the reason I did not gave the complete 5*, but I really do recommend this course to anyone that really want to fully understand HTML & CSS!

I started my official academic journey with HTML and CSS in the Fall of 2018, yet, I have not come across any material whether an article, a course or a tutorial that goes in-depth as Tony does. As someone who has been working with HTML and CSS for a while now, I was not sure if I was going to learn something new, and I am impressed with the results. Though most learning materials were not new to me, the “understanding” was. I am a semantic HTML author, and I am skilled in HTML and CSS. I understand the "bad habits" that I and many developers have adapted over time, and I have broken them. Love Tony's motto: “Don't imitate, understand!” --Tony Alicea

I still have impress of Anthony JS course on myself. Also I have watched his nodeJS course as well. Each course teaches me awesome stuff, especially JS course opened my eyes. This course well structured and teach many things. However for me time to time it was really hard to follow because of I am not native English speaker, Anthony is picking his words really wisely and sometimes it became really hard to understand for someone who is not native in English (like me). I struggled many times about what he is saying because of some complex and long sentences that he saying while explaining things. Gaining specification knowledge is huge plus and talent, but understanding it really hard especially for me, time to time talking about too much specification was really bored and made my focus & understanding drain. Thank your for teaching us, you are awesome teacher. Hoping for less complex sentences tho :)
