How to build and test games for the Oculus Quest 2
How to use Unity’s new Input System
How to write code that’s efficient & modular
How to build games with Unity’s XR Toolkit
How to create inventory, stats, and equipment systems
How to make and work with user interfaces in Unity

Why this course?
Unlike other courses which focus on teaching you the basics of Unity & C#, this course uses the latter to build a complex game on the assumption that you will learn from seeing how it’s done. This is the only course that teaches you how to make a RPG for Virtual Reality headsets (specifically the Oculus Quest 2).
This course is under active development. I plan on continually updating this course with new content as quickly as my time allows.
If all this sounds appealing to you, please join me, and I’ll see you inside the course.

There are lots of Unity courses that cover the basics of Unity and C# but far too few that (like this one) are meant for intermediate to advanced programmers. I also don’t mind him using paid assets since I already own these assets and most experienced Unity devs own lots of assets. A bit dry on the presentation but the content is fantastic so far.

This is not a course from 2021 as the title states. This is made with 2019 and the version of the XR Interaction Toolkit is so old that it is a preview version. This is very outdated VR content + the audio is horrible. I would give it half a star as a VR course, but as a RPG course it is not that bad.

It's overall good but I think if each lesson could show the goal and final result, would be more intriguing and helpful.

Got a lot more than a VR tutorial - perhaps more than I bargained for. VR basics are good, but a small part of this course. A lot of time is spent on implementing and using the Game Foundation for the equipment and inventory system. I was able to follow and understand the steps. Not sure I could duplicate and get Game Foundation up and working in a new project of my own without more research on Game Foundation. Same goes for the state machine package used for the enemy. The Modular Character and Character Selection scripts were long, and I made a lot of typos that were difficult for me to find. For all courses, not just this one, that are implementing an OOP system, a diagram of the objects with key methods/ data would be very helpful - not looking for a full UML diagram, just a high level view of the objects.

First off, The Udemy User "Charles K." that left the review is wrong/INCORRECT. You learn some very useful techniques from debugging to understand why and when to use serialization and other... I can tell the Charles K didnt even do Section 3 "Dependency Resolution". This section alone helps you understand "Separations of Concern". This course is not for the TRUE beginner especially if your using a windows development environment. I think this course is for someone who has just started and wants to take their VR content to the next level. While not super advanced it does cover some concepts in OOP that is great for the intermediate user/developer. the instructor does use "rider" as the code editor. not visual studio.

It's an explicit course but it not a good material for VR primer. I think if the course contains more explanations for XRI will be better.

So far, great and quick introduction to VR setup. No fluff. Looking forward to the rest of it.

If you were looking to learn how to make a better VR product, this isn't that course. Very little of this course is about VR, it's literally just making an RPG that happens to be in VR.
