I approached this series from an intermediate level. I have done many courses like this one in udemy and elsewhere. Generally I would say that this is a good primer to show what Unreal 5 is able to do and answers many questions as how to approach things. Also if all you want to do is create a game exactly like the one the instructor teaches to make then you will be happy with this. At times I found the course very stressful because the very messy code was difficult to understand. In many instances the instructor doesnt explain what he is teaching us to do or what specific nodes or features do, so I found myself just clicking buttons and dragging wires and learning nothing along the process. The instuctor also zooms in to the screen so it makes it difficult to see the whole of the blueprint code to allow me to see if I had created things perfectly. He also moves around very quickly so it can be hard to follow. I made a lot of mistakes because of both these reasons and still have a lot of code that doesn't work. I did try to ask a question for help and the instructor did reply in a friendly and helpful manner, but I am now done with the series and the problems are still not solved. I should also note that my frustrations were added to by the fact that the instructor makes many mistakes continuously and rather than editting them out lets us waste our time making the same mistakes and having to go back and fix them alongside the instructor. This can be useful to show us coding practices but most time they are very simple errors that rarely teach anything. For example at one point we begin making a function and having to remake it as a macro because the instructor forgot we cannot use a delay in a function). The instructor provides us with a lot of assets which saves the effort having to find things to use. However I didnt like how they were managed. Names for models, images and animations were unintuitive and didnt adhere to any kind of convention. Most of the assets provided are difficult to use. The road tiles were terrible to work with so I had to make my own. I shouldn't have to do that. The instructor also works with a traffic light at one point but does not provide it or give any link to it. The instructor also includes car models that are static meshes not skeletal meshes which are what are needed for the project, so were unusuable as far as I could see. (If there is a way to convert a static mesh into a skeletal mesh it wasn't taught). Everything in the project uses a lot of inheritance which was a useful thing to learn about. I did find that because it was incorporated in early stages, if one thing breaks many other things break and is more difficult to work out. Perhaps this could have been broken down into steps more? There are a lot of features to learn in this course and there is a wealth of knowledge here. I would have prefered each section to be more self contained however. If I want to begin in the middle I should be able to but because many game features are dependent on others to work it is impossible to do this. A lot of the learning happens in the first section rather than teaching us as we progress, which is nice to have as a concise reference. However occasionally the instructor would later add a feature to the project referring to something that had already been taught but by that time I had completely forgotten how it worked. I would have prefered that the instructor repeated the process rather than expecting us to just remember it. Repetition is great for learning. I hope that the instructor takes note of my concerns and uses them constructively for any future courses. I did learn a few new things such as animation blueprint and blend space techniques. It was also nice to have cars and pedestrians working together with a traffic light system too.

This course is comprehensive, covering both the basics and more advanced topics in game development using Unity and C+. It includes over 100 hours of content, with a mix of lectures and hands-on projects. Overall, Udemy offers some excellent game development courses, particularly those by GameDev.tv and collaborations with industry leaders like Unity Technologies. They are a great starting point for anyone looking to enter the field of game development. Thanks for course rahmat sir

So the good thing is a lot of things are gone over and some interesting concepts have been executed for sure. However, the quality of everything, and some of the practices (moving entire folders full of lots of items and not fixing redirectors, not prototyping initially but rather building a full city which in their own words is laggy) let it down. On top of that simple things like spellings are incorrect and I totally understand it may not be a first language, but it just doesn't look professional.

I'm giving this course a five-star rating, both during my journey through it and now, at its conclusion, as I reflect on what I've learned. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to Rahmat for creating this exceptional and highly informative course. It stands out from other courses I've explored, offering a wealth of unique content that can't be easily found elsewhere. This course provides extensive coverage of Unreal Engine 5 and its powerful blueprint scripting language. The instructor's explanations and examples are top-notch, making it easy to grasp and apply this knowledge. By the end of the course, I was able to create a game reminiscent of GTA5, complete with a city, AI-controlled characters, drivable vehicles, and a versatile character system featuring three distinct weapon types. There's so much more to say about this course, but you'll truly appreciate its value once you've completed it.

The course is great but files & content are not shared. If the subtitles improve, it could be a good starting point for the unreal engine.

I waited to till the end of the course to write a review and now it's done and I want to write about this course: When I started this course I was just a beginner to unreal engine and even didn't have any idea about its blueprint scripting. But now its different, I feel very comfortable with unreal I can make very complex logic for game with blueprint scripting, like: Setting up complete character system, shooting, Cars, AI enemy, AI people and even more important AI cars which gives me a lot of power and can do very well with this great engine. At the end I want to thank Rahmat for creating this amazing course and want to recommend it to everyone who wants to learn game development with unreal engine blueprint scripting.

I like this course because it's got unique information in it that is hard to find in a concise centralized location. However, the presentation and the teacher makes it hard for me to recommend. Mic quality of the teacher is very bad, lots of background white noise. As someone who is sensitive to those types of things, it was very distracting. They are a bit hard to understand as well, this is not a negative, but a warning if you are unable to understand English with other accents, it could be difficult for you to do this course. As I mentioned before, it's got really good info in it specifically related to behavior trees and AI, so I would recommend it based solely on that.

I've been looking for a tutorial for a long time to teach me how to create a complete game project step by step and here it is. Making a game similar to GTA is not an easy task, but the teacher managed it well and taught it in one course. This course is divided into many sections and each one explains a different topic. I have never seen such a comprehensive and informative course. Great job coach

since I first played GTA5 it was my dream to develop a game similar to that. I searched a lot to find a course which covers all related topics. but it was not that simple. I followed many different courses about creating shooters, AI enemies and cars but still there were much much more and it was not simple to use all of them in a single game project. by finding and following this course it seemed to be simple and yeah it is, he made it simple and combined all in one single course. he starts by introducing Unreal and covers the basics then goes through all the basics of blueprints scripting. he explains everything very well with the logic behind it. you will be able to learn it as a pro. then he creates shooter characters with different abilities and weapons and collecting weapons and ammo, health… explains about AI enemies and AI people every one with a different way so we can understand different ways for creating different AI types. Driving car is my favorite in games, he creates a realistic drivable cars with physics and shows us how to apply single time created logic to different cars. Oh! the part I love! AI cars, I was not able to find this topic anywhere else that how to create AI cars but here we also introduced to AI cars. There are a lot in this course I can’t write all of them but I also love the last section about creating the final project. And finally I was able to develop my dream game just by following one single course. Thank you instructor for creating this course.

There are lots of courses on Udemy teaching game development, but why this course is better is bcoz it shows you everything in a single project which is very good bcoz you can understand how big projects work and how to create them. The good part is this that everything created here are related to each other till the end by the end you will have all the knowledge about creating a full game as GTA. I love the way he teaches.
