Course Description

Today, more than ever, businesses need to understand their customers if they want to create brand-defining experiences that differentiate them from the competition. Regardless of your industry or niche, consumer expectations are being shaped by their experience with industry leaders - people expect the convenience of Amazon, the pricing of Walmart, and the experience of Apple.
This course will show you how to understand your customers better - through a tool known as personas. It's comprehensive, showing you not only why you need to use personas, but giving you a detailed toolbox on how to build them, and how to use them throughout your business.
The course structure can be summarized as:
  1. Introduction - learn why customer experience (CX) is becoming a key business imperative, and where personas fit in your CX initiatives
  2. What is a persona - learn the history of personas, and today's thinking around how best to design them
  3. Creating personas - learn the most effective tools to perform user research in order to create personas. The Persona Toolbox is introduced, showing you 6 different methodologies, with detailed explanations of all of them
  4. Use personas - learn how to use personas throughout your business to enhance customer-centricity.
  5. Success factors and common mistakes - avoid the mistakes we see businesses make when using personas, and discover the key success factors needed to create truly exceptional personas
  6. The future of personas - learn how some companies are taking personas to the next level to derive more value for the business and their customers
Templates have been included to allow you to quickly start using these tools. We've also included assignments to help you incorporate personas for your specific needs.

its a little slower than I expected up front. I was hoping to dive right into the "What is a persona", "how to develop" etc. but i'm ending lecture 5 and its already downplaying the importance of personas. Its good to know that it is one part of the customer journey and becoming customer centric but when I buy a course or am trying to hyper focus on a specific subject it doesn't help to know that this step is a small part of the greater picture. The instructor should spend more time hyperfocusing on the importance on why you need to do this and do it right. How we can maximize the ROI from going through this course. As of right now im just saw the customer centricity wheel in the last lecture but the instructor spent absolutely no time going into these areas, or even really defining further what customer centricity is.

Ok, personas are one aspect of customer centricity, customer centricity is focusing on the customer. Ok.

What data is coming into this customer centricity wheel? is it PII data? Research data? roughly developed personas created internally? What data are we even talking about injecting in the Customer Centricity wheel?!

What strategic marketing is he talking about? Marketing data provided from where or better yet, who? Customers? Stakeholders? Again, no idea what data we're injecting into this flywheel to become more "Customer Centric"

"Using data effectively", how do I know if im using the data effectively? Any examples? Nope.

UX Analysis + Design, what are they analyzing? Data? Apps? Webpages? Where do these individuals come into play?

Value prop / business model: I'm developing a business model off my persona? I though t I was just trying to be more customer centric and understand their painpoints better?

I understand some of the information is catered to individuals who are on differeing paths as the instructor mentioned at the beginning of the course, entrepreneurs / people working in enterprise companies but there was little to no exposé on the customer centricity flywheel, it only downplayed and caught me off guard be pivoting to learning about customer centricity over developing personas.

Good so far

Really enjoying the course.

Very helpful tips on how to understand customers by using different techniques.

I also enjoy that there's a section on using personas in a large company. Goes beyond the basics.

Zu viele allgemeine Inhalte die mit dem eigentlichen Thema nicht wirklich etwas zutun haben. Das frisst viel Zeit und ist anstrengend

It's moving a bit too slowly so far -- with too many "lectures" that could be combined -- but I'm optimistic that it will get to the meat soon.

Extensive, well thought out, well organized content. The instructor is obviously knowledgeable in this domain. The slides are great and available for download as resources. Which is all great. The only problem is the content is almost all ABOUT personas, not DEVELOPING personas. Where is the beef?

This course was definitely not at an intermediate level. I was introduced to the marketing world less than 6 months ago yet didn't learn a thing from this course. Everything taught was extremely rudimentary. The course seem poorly structures and the speaker was not confident or engaging. Would not recommend.
