Rating is 15 out of 5, because of the effort put into this course. I took other Ux courses before this, which made me understand Ux BUT not Ux work in context. This course gives you practical Ux Skills you can apply immediately with confidence, which is your shortest entry into UX. This course was my foundation for putting Ux into perspective, for future courses I have taken/ continue to take, and any Ux article or book I read. You will regret not taking this course way earlier.

I am a total beginner in this field. I have learnt a lot and I'm very excited to get into this field. The pace was very good. David explained things very well. However I did get a little confused regarding the exact steps to follow when I started doing my project but I bounced back after reading his comments to other students and later realized that I need to watch the next few videos plus one that was located right at the end of the course. All in all it was a fantastic experience!

This is wonderful course that includes both theory and practice for anyone who are interested in UX. Participants have chance to join the community of trainees to share experience and ask teacher questions for clarification. Moreover, we can use many useful materials that teacher shares on his organizations' website to our work. David's training as a psychologist shows. I am professional marketer and consumer researcher and I appreciate the depth and quality of this training. In the field of consumer insight the techniques and methodologies are grounded in marketing and consumer behaviour theory; it is similarly focused on finding out about human motivations and needs. Not only was this course excellent it itself but it helped me understand how I can bring added value to this field.

The information is conveyed in a way that is easy to digest. Mr. Travis also starts early on getting students to do activities to reinforce the learning goals. I'm now about to start creating my portfolio. Upon finishing the course, I give it 4.5 stars only because most companies I see that I'd like to apply to require some prototyping skills with some software like Sketch, Axure, Invision, Balsamiq, etc. David downplays using software for making prototypes, though I'm learning how to in another course just on that, so David's course combined with a prototyping course is a good way to go.

Great course – great usability expert and instructor. Dr David Travis’ three fee-based courses were an excellent preparation to land my dream job in the Usability/UX field - it was easy to pass the tests and being hired. Now, this course contains even more material than formerly. Among other things, David Travis has added UX design activities to build a portfolio which is really an excellent idea to improve your employability in this field: Before I got hired, I had contact with two usability consultancies, and BOTH were eager to see at least one sample of practical work. During the job interviews, I wasn't really tested in statistics but I feel that being prepared with Jeff Sauro’s course and Tendayi Viki’s course (SPSS) here on udemy.com, this wouldn’t have been a problem at all. My background: PhD in visual anthropology, some experience in market research and product innovation. Without any professional experience in the field of UX, a chance might be there that a beginner can start with an internship or a traineeship at least. I wish everybody all the luck as well!

This course and its content delivers profound knowledge about User Experience. Dr. Travis, with his teaching style and his ocasional humor within the course, was able to motivate me and create a good and enjoyable atmosphere to learn. Students Questions are replied super responsive and in great detail so the student really feels important. I definitely join more courses from Dr. Travis. It was overall a very good experience and i recommend it for those who are interested in knowing the process of UX!

I first took this course in 2015, and it was invaluable in helping me land my first role as a Product Designer. Since then I have had many interesting roles, but I'd like to brush up on UX principles, especially considering the experience that I now have. So I'm re-taking this course in 2025, and loving it. It's nice to revisit principles and also refresh myself on best practices and new concepts (the course has been updated since I've taken it). All-in-all I really appreciate this course!

Hi David, thanks for all the time you put into the course. I think perhaps this was not the correct course for our needs. I do nonetheless think the course could be improved by: - Using more recent websites - Making reference to APPs and well as systems - Keeping the lectures shorter - Using less jargon and more relatable language. - There was no reference to the use of multiple devices or responsive design in the course which is a vital component for online UX. - Letting users know of the various different online prototyping tools that are available. - Additional information regarding UI kits, A/B testing, localisation, use of icons etc would be valuable. If you are serious about becoming a UX designer, stop what you're doing and get this course.

I've bought about 30 courses on udemy (for development), and this was the second I bought on UX (the first one sucked, I got a refund). This course is fantastic. The videos are not too long (thankfully, because they can get pretty in-depth and technical), and he provides a framework for understanding how to go about doing UX design. I actually understand UX design now. Not bad for a single course!

The absolute BEST thing about this course is the Q&A. Every single day, David Travis answers his students' questions – no question is ever left unanswered (I know because you can check). His feedback is excellent, and I feel so much more confident going into UX design knowing that I have someone in my corner – someone who actually cares.
