I'm on a mission to create more user experience professionals.
Perhaps you'd like a job in user experience. Or maybe you already work in the field but you've never had any formal training. Or maybe you want to improve your skills in one specific area, like usability testing or expert reviews. I've turned thousands of people into user experience designers and researchers and now you can join their ranks by taking my courses on Udemy.
You're probably curious about my background. At 18, I appeared as an extra in the film "Quadrophenia" alongside Sting and Ray Winstone. Despite a critically-acclaimed performance lasting 5 seconds, follow-up offers from Hollywood failed to arrive so I turned to psychology where I gained a BSc and a PhD. Since 1989 I've worked in the fields of human factors, usability and user experience and I've published three books on usability. I'm now a User Experience Strategist at Userfocus, a consultancy specialising in user experience. I'm also an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Chartered Psychologist and a member of the User Experience Professionals Association. I'm no longer in contact with Sting or Ray Winstone, whose career trajectories have been somewhat different.
I've provided usability support to top brands like HP, Microsoft, Whirlpool, Orange, Skype, eBay and Yahoo! and I've also consulted with public sector organisations like The Greater London Authority, Her Majesty

From the first lesson of this course, I experienced what UX truly means. It is not only about the content that is excellent and covers the full scope of the UX process but also the way in which the author shares his knowledge and skills. Each part of the course is a student-center designed with a full pack of resources, clear and concise explanations of the basics and practical tools. If you look for somebody who really understands UX Design and is able to teach you using e-learning formula - this course is for you. Mastery of the author is visible from the beginning to the end. My personal conclusion and some kind of revelation: the ability to understand the difference between observation and interpretation really matters - that is why we need UX Design in a successful business.

Very good course to understand the Usability and UX thinking. The course introduced me to the whole process of building a good portfolio and the exercises in this course helped me understand more the different steps to follow. I highly recommend it!

Highly recommend, the course is comprehensive and practical. I have mastered the key issues of UX and I really like the student handbook offered by David, which documents the key points of the course. Besides, the Student Work Examples: UX Portfolio Review gives great insights into how to create a great portfolio. Thanks a lot for your great course, David. :)

Excellent instructor and a well structured course! I recommend this course to anyone who wants to understand UX research and wants all the basic information in one place.

La verdad es que no aprendi tantas cosas como esperaba, aun que tiene buenos ejercicios y las evaluaciones al final de cada seccin son muy tiles

This course is SUPER informative and practical. David gives many real life examples to explain some complex UX theories. And the structure of the course is awesome, it follows the User-centered design framework which is easy to understand and use. Im just halfway through the course but I definitely recommend anyone who is interested in learning UX and usability, and even basic of visual design to take this course.

The teacher is extremely good making complicated concepts in simple things, real world approach, familiar words and an elegant sense of humour. I highly recommended this course, in fact, I'll do it again and keep under my arm when I'll go to my work. Congratulations and thank you very much Mr Travis.

Corso ben fatto, si segue molto bene ed chiaro il percorso che viene affrontato e in che modo viene affrontato. Utile sia per avere un'inquadratura generale dell'argomento che per approfondire alcune tematiche, come la ux research.

The course is great. It helped me understand the characteristics of a persona and the importance of helping users achieve a task successfully in the world of UX/UI design.

50% through and will update again at the end, though I doubt again I will be changing my rating. So glad I landed on this course. It's jam packed with information; I'm finding myself writing everything David says. Sometimes I have to watch some portions of the video twice, because of some extremely witty remark (not complaining though). I feel like the course has given me the perfect foundation for a career in UX, which I hope to use as a jumping-off point and learn some of the techniques discussed in more detail.

This is absolutely perfect for me. I am a technical writer in a company that builds custom software to support their custom hardware. This course is helping me educate the developers. Thank you.

I think this is the best course on Udemy for UX Designers or those who aspire to learn the core fundamentals of UX Design. Take the course.
