Content is good but seems outdated as most of the ways to fetch data on the websites referred in practice exercises are not working, so leaving this course halfway to look for some latest course as I am trying the hands on exercises along with the lecture and it's disappointing to see things not working and seems waste of time going through rest of the course. Please update the course to latest or else somehow mention in the title that it is outdated. I am on a Udemy personal plan hence can switch to other courses but if someone is buying this specific course then it will be waste of money.

The course is pretty good, very practical, however, it is also heavily outdated (code works differently now, links don't work anymore etc.). I was able to pull through most of it but it was quite a bit of extra work. There might be some other more up-to-date courses that would deliver a bit better.

This is a great introductory course into web scraping with beautiful soup and selenium. The examples were great and showed enough abnormal situations that I should be able to use these techniques for my own web scraping projects. Unfortunately, some of the webpages and examples are different and don't align with the coding exercises (I took this course in October, 2022), and other updates to the libraries (like find_element_by_xpath doesn't exist anymore and is written differently) threw things off, but it was a good chance to trouble-shoot the code and figure out how to correct it.

it is a good course for beginners , I do appreciate the time and efforts he has put, but I have to say, some codes are outdated, for example, 'driver.find_element' , it took me a while to figure out the new way to use it. Questions have been asked, but instructor hasn't replied for a few months. Pls update the course in 2022, and take some time to help students' questions.

This is a very practical and genuinely paced course. Really enjoyed the instructor's understanding of where any of us could get stuck. Only issue is that the course is formulated around selenium 3 and there are some minute differences in selenium 4 which I worked around with the help of StackOverflow, so might wanna update that part....other than that, great foundation for web scraping. Looking forward to taking on more projects!

I tried Youtubing this stuff to figure it out on my own but it's really hard to cut corners on this topic. Chris does a great job explaining from the foundation up what the code does and why it is there. I feel as if I thoroughly understand what the code is doing and can easily write my own to webscrape my own desired information.

Best course on Udemy the teaching style was very good. Instructor explain each and almost every thing about Beautiful Soup and Selenium. The best part of the course was in which Instructor scrape data off some of the most well-known websites .Now I am quite confident I can scrap almost 85 to 90 percent of websites

Overall, it has been a good experience, very hands on. In the second exercise, however, I ended up getting blocked on carpages.ca. I guess Chris has directed a lot of unwanted traffic their way, and they may have become more defensive. But even so, it has been a really good experience.

One can get a very general idea about web scraping from this course. However, I feel there is definitely some room for improvement example-wise and there were a lot of instances where presented examples needed quite a lot of modifications to work. Alas, the unreliable nature of web data scraping.

I learned a great deal about web scraping from this course. I appreciate that it didn't go into the DOM like other tutorials of web scraping do. Following along and coding is vital, especially because the instructor calls quotes, commas and parenthesis brackets in the videos. I think when he updates the course, he can make the necessary corrections then. Periodic updates are necessary because there is already a change with the goat website. It now does infinite scrolling. I could not get the webdriverwait to work,so I used the time.sleep alternative to complete the exercise. The video involving the automating any python script didn't work for me because I am using linux and not windows. It would be easier to send feedback without having to have a linkedin account.
