WordPress Intermediate Skills - The Next Steps (Udemy.com)

I love Dr. Williams’ courses! The lectures are great. He is very knowledgeable about the subject, but is able to break down the complex information so that newcomers (like me) can easily understand it. His visuals are also great - they complement the lecture very well. His delivery is dynamic; I’m never bored when listening. All of that said, however, can’t make up for some of the outdated sections of the course. When he originally created this course, Gutenberg was very new and quite buggy. Understandably, most of his demonstrations are in the classic editor. Gutenberg has been updated, with most of the bugs worked out now, and his beginners course uses the Gutenberg editor. So coming to an Intermediate course and seeing the classic editor used almost exclusively is a bit disappointing. The Yoast SEO video should be updated because their plug-in pages no longer match what he has onscreen. Normally I wouldn’t mind - things get updated all the time. But the two are very different which makes it a bit hard to follow along. Overall, I’m very pleased with the course, but it gets only 4 stars because of the number of updates needed.

If you took WordPress For Beginners from Mr.Andy you have to take this follow up course. This is not for the professional coders, but for the common people who wishes to control better their website, to understand better the structure of WordPress and how to manipulate it to obtain better results, with great advices on various plugins and some tools that everybody can use. I had some experience already on some of the subjects, but this course helped me to be sure of my work.

Dear Mr. Andrew Williams, I were having ZERO experience with WordPress. On Dec 2015, my brother has sent me your course link (WordPress for Beginners). Then I attend your course (Move a WordPress Website), then (WordPress SEO), then (Secure Your Website with SSL) and then finally this course on Nov 2021 (WordPress Intermediate Skills). What I want to say, that between 2015 & 2022, I have successfully developed 24 Live WordPress websites and 4 out of them are E-Commerce. Now, I have my own commercial license and doing business officially. I don't know how to thank you about what you did for me. You have changed my career to the best. Please be proud about what you are doing for your students. If you visit UAE one day, please remember to contact me in order I meet you personally. Great course to learn more about WordPress. The author covers many subjects, and while I sometime wished he would go deeper, I realize it would go beyond the scope of the course. This way, not only do we become aware of many key considerations, but we also learn where to look for more information and which tool to use to improve a WP site.

The course content was well explained and demonstrated. My only criticism would be that there is not much of a step up from beginners course. I found the child themes section interesting and hoped for more content along these lines. However, this is perhaps a failing on my part in choosing the wrong course for my current skillset. I would still recommend this course for those moving on from the basics of WordPress.

Very good follow up course to his course for beginners. The first class gets you up and running, while this one adds more to your WP foundation. Very thorough and good examples. I gave the first course 5 stars and this on 4.5 stars because I believe the first course had more exciting content. I mean who wants to talk about GDPR? Other than that, I strongly believe both courses make for a powerful WordPress foundation, even though the second course talks about dry subjects, they are still needed to have a good running and compliant website. Now to take Andy's Security course.

Andy Williams is extremely knowledgeable and covers topics with enough information to get me started. Some of it is presented very quickly, so I find myself rewinding occasionally. I have gone from no knowledge to good in a short time, which is what I hoped for. Also, he answers questions promptly. Love that the course is available in perpetuity because I have gone back and re-watched several sections when I am ready to implement. Priceless.

This is the second one of Andy Williams' courses I have taken in recent weeks. I now feel I am almost ready to begin my own wordpress journey. I have really enjoyed both courses and will next be moving onto Andy's course on CSS. Two weeks ago the only thing I knew about Wordpress was how to spell it - I now have my own domain and WP hosting package and am heavily into considering the design of my new website. Having initially built my website some 20 years ago using ASP and hand coded CSS and HTML (all in notepad) it is about time it had a refresh! Andy's courses will definitely help me to move things forward.

This is a very thorough course on WP. You will gain a lot insights. I have been through some lessons several times since their subject was new tome. Andy explains everything in an orderly and clear fashion. The technical quality is also very good. Andy calls this intermediate skills. If he ever creates a WP advanced course I am not sure I dare to take it! I recommend this course without hesitation.

This course is ideal for taking your skills beyond the beginner level. It covers a wide range of technical topics and provides a satisfying learning experience. The course is unique in that it shows how to accomplish tasks manually by editing files, and automatically by using plug-ins. The instructor uses a step-by-step approach to demonstrate each technique. This course will inspire you to take your web development to the next level.
