Sehr gut und einfach erklärt, sehr gut strukturiert. Ein paar Dinge sind aber nicht mehr ganz modern und könnten aktualisiert werden. Ich habe bisher nur Themes angepasst und Snippets aus der Community benutzt. Mir hat der Kurs Spaß gemacht und er konnte mir wirklich Wissen vermitteln bzw. mein Halbwissen vervollständigen :) . Zusätzlich animiert er, aktiv zu lernen und sich z.B. die Dokumentation von WordPress anzuschauen.

This is a great primer on classic WordPress theme development. I appreciate Marcelo's focus on what you can do with code without relying on plugins. It really helped to see the patterns used to effectively utilize the WordPress core and implement custom options. The additional content on the block editor is a great bonus too. Although it seems that block-based themes will become the new standard, in reality, the tech is still new and will take a long time to be fully adopted. They say WordPress powers 40% of all websites. Just think of all those classic themes! The support won't go away any time soon. The content in this course is still relevant. So if you're looking to upskill and develop your own WordPress themes through code, this is the course for you!

This course was phenomenal! Mr. Vieira is an engaging instructor who explains every concept thoroughly and in a way that’s easy to understand. While the focus is on Classic Theme Development, the course also includes a concise yet comprehensive introduction to Block Theme Development which I found very interesting as I haven't experimented with Gutenberg a whole lot. Pro: Course content was good for learning all the basics of turning an HTML site into WordPress, and I liked that he warned us about using Google fonts. Con: I wasn't able to breeze through as quickly as I initially hoped because it was really hard to understand his English without having to use the subtitle feature, which made focusing exhausting. Eventually I got frustrated from relying on subtitles so I had to take a lot of breaks, but I understand that English is his second language so I can't take that part into consideration for my rating. If I can speak fluent Portuguese, I'm sure that this course would have actually been much easier to follow.

I am happy I purchased this course. I could easily follow it along. And I would happily recommend this course to anyone who is trying to create a custom WP theme from scratch, but who is not a programmer. One complaint. I got frustrated when in lesson 53 - Internationalization (part 3), suddenly I had to go through several php pages to implement those __( functions. It totally broke my flow of learning. It could have been covered ... differently. Probably at the end of the course, OR it would have been better if this feature was implemented ONLY for only 1-2 pages for learning purposes. Marcelo has done an awesome job!

As I expected, Marcelo has a clear and detailed teaching method. He uses techniques for developers who are already familiar with the code, without wasting time with notions that most courses always repeat. I learned new concepts and techniques, very useful for creating a website. I also strongly recommend the WooCommerce course which has the same qualities, indeed even more. Thanks Marcelo, you really are number one!

I recommend this course for beginners in the development of WordPress themes. Beginners will value this course more than people with previous knowledge of WordPress. Several plugins were used to implement some elements of the main layout of the course, namely, for the contact form, for the slider, for social media icons and for the responsive menu. My experience with the instructor in terms of the answers he offered to my questions was good. His answers were quick and timely, however, for one of them I couldn't solved the detail. In general I value as positive the experience and skills acquired in the course, I consider it will serve as a basis to develop the structure of my own themes in WordPress from scratch. As for the instructor, he is perceived as a methodical, analytical, calm, kind person, and concerned with transmitting the contents in an incremental way, to make learning less traumatized, simpler and more natural. Very good course, thanks to the instructor Marcelo…. Success !!!

This is my second time running through this course (the first time I copied his theme and now am making my own) and it hands down deserves 5 stars. I'm almost done with my own theme, ran in to an issue, and Marcelo has responded back with very detailed, quick help. I don't know how he does it! I started the class with basic wordpress, html, css, and bootstrap knowledge, which I would say is the perfect place to come from in hindsight. About half of the class was above my head on the first time through - keep up with it anyways! - and the second time through I'm stunned at how much more I understand. Each problem I had ended up being a huge learning experience, keep that in mind. Marcelo has laid this course out well, when you come up to a snag do everything you can to research and fix it on your own, but if you can't he's there for you. That's huge for me and may be for you, too.

Thank you for this excellent course, Marcelo! As I said in one of my questions, I used this knowledge in my first WordPress related contract, which I landed while in the middle of the course! I'm now in the running for my next one and am going to take the free time that I have while waiting on contract decisions to build my first theme that I plan to put up for sale. GREAT job on this course...I HIGHLY recommend it!
