WordPress for Beginners: Create a Website Step by Step (Udemy.com)

I own a business and had a custom made website built by a professional. I have access to wordpress for it and want to learn how its basics work to be able to change and update it

About half way through and this is a well-crafted and thoughtful approach to teaching how to use WordPress. I've already learnt enough to get started on building my website idea using the classic theme.

This is a basic and simple course on getting started with WordPress. Mr. Brad Schiff does an excellent job in taking you through creating a WordPress website, modifying or making changes to the site and posting to a live hosting service. His instructions are clear and concise.

This course is excellent. I never thought I would be able to follow the instructions and actually build my own website, but I did. The lessons are clear, practical, and easy to follow, even for someone without much experience. I really appreciated the step-by-step approach, which gave me the confidence to keep going and complete my website. What I liked most is that WordPress gradually becomes much less intimidating as the course progresses. The way the course is structured makes the platform feel more and more user-friendly, almost natural to use. It is a great feeling to see everything come together. Highly recommended. Very informative and entertaining. Would recommend, though I would say it does need a 2026 update as WordPress user interface has changed and some of the options and settings are now in different locations than what your lessons show.

I have several WordPress courses. This is the best starter course I've seen. I appreciated that it uses standard WordPress themes instead of commercial themes. Brad's explanation of the difference between classic themes and block themes cleared up several questions that I had. If you are new to WordPress or are confused by what features to use where, I recommend this course.

This is a review of the updated(2025) version of this course. I'm a big fan of Brads courses and teaching style and this course was no different. Starting with Classic themes, you build up a very nice and functional site that is still relevant today. There is then a very good section on using the Full Site editing feature of Wordpress that really ups the design level of the site you've been building. While I don't feel like a Wordpress expert by the end of the course, I do fell more comfortable and confident about Wordpress and it's capabilities going forward.

The course was amazing. But while customizing the 2016 theme, the author switched to the 2025 theme at the end of the course. It has created so many complications. Like the menus and submenus created in 2016, have disappeared after I switched to the 2025 block theme. The blog section disappeared as well. The whole thing became messy at the end of the course. The way Brad created the footer in the 2025 theme, that doesn't work with 2016. Now If I wish to continue with 2016, it becomes just an incomplete course in that case, because so many things has been changed. Same goes for 2025 theme. I request to bring some updates on it. Also, please show the updated method clearly on how to get all the menus back in 2025 from the 2016 theme, create new menus.

The pace is excellent. the toneallity of the instructor is very good. I am a person with hearing difficulty so, the projection of speach is important for comprehension. I actually have been taking notes in this section as many of my Blog entries will be long genealogical stories and data. Thia has really helped organize that stuff better and make the blogs more usable.

The course has been very insightful so far. The content is well-structured, easy to follow, and practical. I appreciate the clear explanations and hands-on examples. Overall, a great learning experience!
