x86 Assembly Language Programming From Ground Up (Udemy.com)

Overall good course; had to do a lot of additional research to make sure I understood the concepts thoroughly, as the author assumes a strong understanding of a wide variety of ASM concepts; That said - was extremely impressed at how knowledgeable and clearly skilled he was in low-level programming tasks, I gained a good deal of knowledge by taking the course.

There's no explanation of anything going on, hes just reading the code he types.
No actual mention of why hes doing these things.
Loads of unanswered questions in the q&a
randomly starts using c++ for parts of the course
no quizzes, no exercises.

What was covered in the course was very good. However, a lot of the simple things about assembly language was left out. It seemed to be more focused on C programming. I was hoping to find a way around the exception that Window throws up when I try to run my old asm programs that I wrote 30 to 40 years ago. Example: trying to access the bios using interupt functions doesn't work.

Love the instructor, I use Visual Studio for C# and C++, now assembler too :)

C++ knowledge, especially the concept of pointers, is a definite pre-requisite for this course. Also, fortunately I have the recommended text book, which the trainer reads from almost exactly. Without the text book it will be difficult to follow the later chapters.
