Have you ever noticed how the most intriguing individual in the room seems content to listen sooner than speak? ~ Richelle E. Goodrich

Good, what I expected - hints and tips gave me some new tools to focus on being an active listener

By Myra Baxter on 11/8/2020

I very much like the use of a Chinese word to indicate all the aspects needed to be a good listener. I think it is a good reminder to many of us who engage with others. The aspect I felt was missing was a mention that especially in the age of the Corona 19 virus, many of us have to do our work almost exclusively by phone and even in person our face is mostly covered with a mask. I would greatly appreciate ideas to truly listen with these barriers. In addition I think there should have been a mention that in some cultures it is not polite to look at someone in the face, if older, different gender, etc. so one has to learn about these difference. Overall the course was quite good and helpful.

I enjoyed the course. I could relate to the core messages as I usually spend 90% of the time listening during conversations with my friends. I might be on the right track already.

To be honest, at the beginning, i thought is there is a course for listening? Is listening that much important?. Then now, after the completion of course, i got several ideas about listening and realized how much important listening is. These much days i assumed myself that i am listening, but actually i am not. Your teaching was just awesome and your language fluency is so effecient. Gained many knowledge from this course. Thanks everett, for such a wonderful session. From today onwards, i'll stop hearing and start listening.

Good way to start on active listening, though there is no shortcut of being a good listener. We all need a constant practice.
