Advanced Java Programming (Udemy.com)

The instructor has a very effective way of teaching and hes also very skilled when it Comes to explaining stuff. The only Thing i would "critizise " are the excersises. Instead of making a Video like in all the other lectures he should give the excersise as a text, so we can try out to Code it without him, and watch the Video afterwards.
PS: Respect, for coding all the time without a fancy Environment :D

The course covers a lot in a very short time, just enough to give you a feel of where you want to go next with your Java skills. Highly recommendable!

Great course! Very informative and at a great pace.
Something you should know is that MYSQL and database knowledge is assumed as a prerequisite.

I understand that the aim was to give a glimpse of each topic without going into too much detail bit it would be nice if it gave more context info and tips on each topic. At its current form it's more like a set of random examples typed into notepad with very minimal explanation.

The instructor is very good at explaining the subjects featured. Glad I bought this course. However, it would of been perfect if he would of added more content on certain subjects like Generics and Collections.

I came to this course having completed the Infinite Skills Java Basics course, which I found to be an excellent introduction to the language. I enjoyed the style of learning provided by Infinite Skills and Udemy and was keen to develop the skills that I learned in the first course.
I found that the initial chapters in this course followed on well from the introductory course and I especially enjoyed the introduction to Swing and Java GUIs. However, from this point the course went down hill for me. The Swing introduction turned out to be just that: an introduction. In fact, the instructor went over a very basic set of Swing features and then promptly moved on to cover an entirely new topic. The Swing features were not used again.
This problem plagues the second half of this course. Advanced topics are introduced, given the most basic explanation with very few lines of supporting code and then forgotten, never to be used again. The only exception to this rule is with Applets, which the instructor seems to use where Swing tools might be more appropriate. There is also no explanation of how to actually build applets into web pages which, it turns out, is a rather complicated feat in itself. Also, this course makes very little use of separate classes in the programs. I find this astonishing, given that Java is an Object Oriented Language with such an emphasis on class usage.
There are some chapters on this course that I came out of with no greater understanding than I had when I went in. To this day, I have virtually no concept of what a Java Bean is and where I would want to use one.
I appreciate that Java is a vast topic and it would take hours of video tutorial to cover everything in more detail. In reality however, when you are paying $99 for a course you would expect to get you money's worth. Extensive Java tutorial books are available for half the price of this course and go into significantly more depth.
Ideally, this course should be split into two or even three courses. The first half of the course should be expanded on and placed into an intermediate course. There should be a greater emphasis on Swing development (because what applications are command-line based these days, realistically?)
The second half of the course would be better if it were offered as a separate course going into significantly more detail than is available here and there are multiple improvements that could be taken into account on top of this.
All in all, I do not consider that this course offers good value for money. The first half of the course saves the whole thing from being worth a one or two star review.

The instructor of this course is very knowledgeable in Java, but does not spend any time talking about when and why you would use what is being taught. This course may be good for someone who is familiar with Java and wants to know more.

Solid Basic Class - Great Examples without using IDE to start! You do learn about eclipse toward the end.. Good Stuff!!

This is in no way an advanced course of Java programming.
All of the topics that were looked at are fairly basic, this was a course I expected to complete as a learning possibility for an intermediate level exam, however nothing here is really above beginner level.
There are multiple issues with the course in general, starting with it being outdated. For example, usage of now old Java 6 as well as the provided Driver for MySQL is deprecated and should not be used.
Also issues with code that simply does not work, and is apparently fixed between lessons, otherwise would not compile, more specifically Chapter 14, class "Temperature". Written code that was shown in video would never compile.
And lastly, exercises can't even be called that, as those are simply written by the instructor in the video as with every lesson, and don't require user to do anything other than just watch.
This course does not need improvements, it needs complete rework from the ground up.
2 stars, simply because a beginner coder could see this useful enough as 99% of the code works, and is written as simple as it possibly can be.

its not advanced java as it claims to be.
Instructor just runs sample programs which is not tutorial in my view.

Was enlightening but a few more effort could have been spent by the instructor to explain the concepts. He just touched and went through each chapters.
