Our take
Based on the ratings of 7,638 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in January 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is Academind's course on using AI inside your editor, taught by Maximilian Schwarzmüller. It runs about 8 hours across 147 lectures and covers GitHub Copilot, Cursor, a little ChatGPT, and a REST API built with those tools. The syllabus gives Copilot the biggest block, roughly 167 minutes, with Cursor spread over three sections. It asks for basic programming knowledge and nothing about AI. About 43,000 students have enrolled, and the 7,638 reviews average 4.5 stars.
Most of the sample is four or five stars. Reviewers call the concepts clear and easy to follow, describe it as a great starting point, and say the instructor knows his material. The complaints are consistent, though. Some found it thin, closer to a tour of where to click than real depth. Others point to leftover sections marked obsolete or skip, and a final project that turns into plain Express server work with little AI in it. One reviewer found the many 2 to 3 minute videos choppy.
The January 2026 update added new Copilot and Cursor sections, yet reviewers writing months later still say it needs another pass. Treat it as a quick orientation, not a deep dive. If you are new to these tools and comfortable with basic code, it is a sensible way to start. If you already use them, the reviews suggest it will feel light.
Pros
- Copilot gets about 167 minutes, covering suggestions, chat and unit test generation
- Cursor is split into basics, advanced, and a Composer section
- Reviewers call the explanations clear and easy to follow, even for newcomers
- Ends with a REST API project that uses AI from planning through bug fixing
Cons
- Some older sections are marked obsolete or skip, which pads the 8 hours
- The final project drifts into ordinary Express server coding with little AI use
- No agents or orchestration, and many 2 to 3 minute lectures break the flow
Excellent course! It covers GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, and ChatGPT in a very practical and hands-on way. Great for developers looking to boost productivity with AI tools.
Labeled All Levels, but it assumes basic programming. It suits developers new to AI tools, not people new to code.

yes but it would have been better if it was only focused on Cursor AI so that it would be a shorter course and focused and I could compete it from start to finish and receive some type of satisfaction that I completed the entire course.

As always, delivered in an engaging way. Thoroughly covered content; and I especially like the fact that when updating the course, the old material is not immediately removed, but kept around to give those a chance who started before the update to finish what they started.

I was expecting a more depth. I came here from Max Docker course which I totally love. Has taken 2 other and was soo bored and Max deliver Docker perfectly. I was expecting from this course to learn a little bit more. However it was like a brief YT explanation to how use tool, where to click. I learned few subtle things. However that's not that much for a paid course. To be honest I'm disappointed.

Took it mainly for cursor, course could use some more updates. Presenter is well knowledgeable.

I am doing a side project on the side as I listen to the lessons, to apply what I just learned, and I have to say, Cursor is impressive. I may have to go through the course once again because it is a lot to take in at once. But It is very well explained and certainly has everything one needs to get started!

Very interesting course. It's great that it's been updated quite recently. The most of other Udemy courses are heavily outdated, so this course is a very nice exception. The course has two distinct parts. The first one a walks you through different Copilot and Cursor features. I really enjoyed it. The second part should be practical and demonstrate using AI on a real project. This was however a bit boring for me. It was simply writing a few prompts and modifying the results manually. No advanced features from the first part were used. I increased the playing speed and then clicked through the videos. It was ok, but not very useful for me. Nevertheless, the course is overall very good and I recommend it.

Great Course what's Amazing that the course is updated. So I bought this course a year ago watched it. And I have appllied knowledge of it in my daily job. Than I saw oh the course was updated. I watched it again and get new knowledge. Great job Max.

Should provide more examples using some of the more advanced features within copilot (Skills, prompt files, custom agents, etc.). Otherwise, it's a great introduction to show you what's available within copilot.
By Albert-Rolan Timashev on 2/19/2026
Great course! It would be nice to have more in-depth sections on planning new project and refactoring the existing projects, especially complex ones with both frontend and backend in a mono-repo or in the separate repos (e.g. opened in a single workspace).

Fue un buen curso, aprendí mucho. Sería bueno que se le hiciera una depuración y se borraran los vídeos en donde el instructor menciona que están viejos y se pueden saltar.
