Very good course, it has allowed me to understand the Ajax programming technique, the teacher is clear and concise in his explanations and the practical examples are very useful to understand the concepts.

Es un curso demasiado básico y está muy desactualizado. Podría llegar a ser útil para personas que apenas está ingresadno al mundo del ajax pero no lo veo como una buena base sino un pequeño pantallaso. No veo la necesitdad de armar un json de la forma en la que se hizo.

It is quite interesting, especially for the practical part. It is very dynamic too and quite organized and well explained. The only thing I would like you to add more information to configure localhost 8888 and try at the same time, maybe with Xampp?

It is going well except for 1.5 which had corrupted files that took me a long time to recreate. I had to take several screen shots to reconstruct the files. That and still using HTML 4.01 instead of HTML 5 is why the rating is down a star.

I changed every word of my initial review, and I am going through the whole thing again. The presenter paced it well and covered a lot of ground. Not being a javascript guru, some of it took me awhile, even though I've read a couple AJAX books. I initially found the jQuery parts distracting, but he followed them up with analogous examples in straight Javascript. The gigantic complaint I have--with myself, not the instructor--is that the course ended without delving into more PHP Database-related examples, which is really the subject of another course (which I am going to start right now). After all, the PHP database part is something I know at least a little about. I got a lot out of this course and I'm undoubtedly going through it again, since the embedded anonymous functions are just an invitation to write ugly code that's hard to follow (not the instructor's fault. He really broke it down well). In short, I'm pleased with the course and would certainly recommend it to others.

Great course ... great instructor ... you will definitely learn a lot About AJAX with this course ... maybe even more important(for me) you will understand the "request -> response " cycle of web apps

I liked your course. Gave a very quick insight into AJAX. Would like to have a further course with you as a tutur and a bit deeper AJAX development. What about a course on database coding with ajax, jquery and json? Maybe some google geochart or amcharts javascript maps, this would be really necessary and useable, too

This course is an excellent starting point for anyone wanting to add AJAX functionality to their projects. Mr. Lassoff provides clear instructions with downloadable example code that should allow any new developer to add this valuable skill to their toolbox.

Although the course title is 'AJAX Development', Mark covers a lot more in this course than just using Javascript to create interactive web pages. He also does a good job of explaining what XML and JSON are and why you should know about them if you want to create web pages that interact with services on other sites. There is also a look at using XSLT to present XML data, and a brief introduction to jQuery, one of the most popular Javascript frameworks. My only quibble would be that the course might benefit from being reordered so that some of the work files appear for download prior to the videos where they are referred to - I had to skip forward a few times to get hold of some of the files, as they are not always shown on the videos for you to enter manually.
