Course Description

Hi, welcome to Anatomy 2.0: Draw the Figure From Imagination, where you’ll learn how to draw the human figure from imagination. I’m Neil Fontaine, a professional comic artist, and traditional painter but also the easy-going instructor for this course.

Have you wanted to draw characters from your imagination but they suck? Maybe you have seen a comic artist draw from his imagination, and it looks so good. How did he do that? This is how. In this course, I teach you what you need to know about drawing the human figure so you can draw it from your imagination and draw from references without copying exactly what you see.

I use new techniques to teach clearly. I waste no time, no filler. I packed into this 14-hour long course, all the information in my 60-hour Anatomy course, plus, I added more. We learn proportions, the structure of the figure, 3D forms and more. We learn how muscles look, where they attach, how they twist, turn and change shape, how they flex, and how they relax. We learn how fat builds upon the body and how bodies look from different angles. We deep dive into hips, torso, breasts, butt, etc.

We also learn to draw hands, feet, heads, and faces, all to help your figure drawing skills and anatomy.

I also help you along the way by answering your questions and giving feedback on your progress drawings.

This course is for the beginning artist that wishes to draw like a pro.

I have included many drawing samples you can use as a reference, but also, I have included a photoshop file that shows all the muscles we draw. Each muscle is on its own layer and name. This is a great learning tool. I have also included several photo packs of different nude models you can freely use for practicing. I paid over $100 for the rights to share those images.

Instructor Details

Neil Fontaine

I'm a best selling author on Amazon for "How to Draw Awesome Figures."

I studied art at different schools, one of them being a community college in San Jose, Ca. Over the years, subjects in art finally clicked. I teach these subjects in ways that make it easy to grasp. It's hard to brag about myself, but students have written me emails saying how they have learned more from me than they did in art schools, art schools such as Academy of Arts in San Franscico. That blew my mind because it's supposed to be a great school.

I also sell abstract paintings that I painted while meditating. A recent painting sold for $10,963. If enough art students ask, I will make a course on how to abstract paint. You can see my paintings at saatchiArt

I'm also a writer that has sold novels.

Kind of Jumpy narrative and the guide lines in some places were too light to See. I had a hard Time keeping up.

Neil Fontaine imparts an immense amount of valuable knowledge, tips, and purely practical skills. Despite often lacking organization or conciseness, which can sometimes overwhelm due to the overly complex nature of his knowledge delivery, such as rapid speech, the sheer volume of information compensates for any shortcomings. Additionally, his invaluable feedback, to which Neil regularly responds, also deserves praise. Highly recommended.

I bought this course along with Neil's first Anatomy course (which he still updates), and even his Blender Anatomy course. All three are worth buying if you truly want to master anatomy for drawing. Neil takes the time to explain things and genuinely wants his viewers to learn. Anatomy 2.0 is a faster paced (so I recommend to start with 1.0), but it's structured for effective learning. Other online anatomy tutorials/courses don't go into this much detail, this is a MUST have for anatomy. Thanks again Neil for your amazing courses and teaching style.

El curso es muy eficaz y bastante esclarecedor, los subtítulos están un poco descalibrados. Pero en cuanto a la información y la instrucción que da el maestro, es muy buena, definitivamente el mejor curso de anatomía.

The instructor really makes you understand what you are doing where the parts of the body go and how to measure accurately. This course taught me so much valuable knowledge and tricks on how to practice the right way!

Course is very useful and helpful. However, trainer struggles with latin muscle names, should have prepared those in advance. Especially as he can just show them written on screen and read aloud. Sometimes this happens with other things as well, this "I can't remember at the moment oh well" attitude may have been meant to make it seem live, but comes off as a bit lazy in a prerecorded course. Content is good, though, and there are some tools which one might use shown as well, so overall a worthwhile course, its just that the delivery could have been a bit more professional.

I was absolutely turned off by Neil's Original 65 hour course due to zero course structure, constant rambling, seeming lack of understanding his graphical tools, and no references to speak of. I've owned it for 4 years and recently gave it a second attempt. I finally wrote my review of how disappointed I was. Shortly after I did, this popped up during a search for a new in depth anatomy class. Super skeptical, I watched each free section he gave and became intrigued. Short, focused, to the point, much better skill, reference materials, and best of all NO fluff! So I gave Neil my third and final try. After purchasing this course I have watched 6-7 random lessons all the way through, and am still very impressed. I think THIS is the in depth class I have been looking for. The previous course put me to sleep...I find myself actually wanting to absorb the knowledge in this one. Compared to the last effort, this one moves along quickly. Many beginners mentioned how they appreciated the slowness of the previous version. I am no pro by any means (I do have a grasp of the basic body shapes through multiple random youtube lessons, but wanted something to help solidify the underlying details I couldn't find easily). This still has the basics for a true beginner, but skillfully presented as to be interesting enough for an intermediate like me to learn something new from it. I am actually excited by what I have seen so far and am looking forward to finishing this course from start to finish. Rework some of your other courses in this format ( I have the pinup course as well :/ ) and you may have a reformed fan! 4 stars for now as I am impressed...will give 5 if the rest is like I have witnessed so far.

So far yes, a good match to my expectations. Drawing to the grid has highlighted how poor I am at symmetry around the centre line. I am right handed and have no problem drawing to the left of the centre line,, but trying to mirror that to the right is proving problematic. The grid really helps and I have been drawing plenty of them up for more and more practise!
