Apache Flink | A Real Time & Hands-On course on Flink (Udemy.com)

The course overall has provided good understanding to get started with Flink. It covers both theory and practical side of it. The course is bit outdated but I feels that's mangable as technologies keep evolving but if we have basic understanding of tech stack we should be good. But yes if this course gets updated as well with time, this would help.

Overall, a good lecture and hands-on on Apache Flink.

So far, this course has been useful for me. I learned new things about Flink transformations and data analysis. Sometimes I needed to review the examples more than once, but overall the course was easy to follow.

Great course, but lack of consistency, it starts with Flink 1.5 and after uses 1.13. I wish this course to be update to Flink 2.*

Detailed Explanation on flink concepts which I really loved

The course provides a wide variety of functionality but it is out of date. Much of the staff is depricated. One thing that was difficult for me was providing simple output ona text file as FileSink needs specific configuration of checkpoints. I would suggest the author to create a new course edition.

The content was very good and well explained. Just two things I have to critize: 1.) got no feedback concering solution (in my case program-solution) if first assignment, even after weeks 2.) sometimes the questions for the quizes re confusing and not quite clear (e. g. "... in separate files": ??? what separate files?)

In essence it's a good course.
But it would have been excellent if the code were up to date. A lot of examples don't work, or it's just me.
If you write code for a course, make sure nothing is deprecated; because after a year or two it may fail altogether.
Since the code is 2 years old a lot of examples, when implemented now, are filled with deprecations. I don't think this is the best way.
Installation only explained on Linux.
Finally; I do recommend this course! It is well worth it. But it should've been made up-to-date

I'll try to be not so negative. It was what I needed and I learned a few things but also some other things I'll leave feedback just as constructive as I can.
In general I did not mind the investment/time I spent on the course.
Here is the things I would have done different or would like a bit better:
I really don't like when I see a lot of projects/courses still relying on maven over gradle...
I do not understand this dependency on Linux VM or something like that. If this is needed we can rely on WSL 2.0 or just use any of the cloud providers for setting up environments.
It would be really nice to use github, gitlab or something like that to store the code.
I'm a bit pedantic but reading all that code without proper indentation really makes my eyes hurt

The codes in Section 3 and 4 could have be explained in a better with an example of real time use case. Apart from this, I personally felt that the the code could have been written on the go instead of directly showing the already coded part. That could have made it excellent.
