WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS COURSE

5 Stars!
The lessons are pretty clean and clear. I have had lessons in person with a teacher in the past but felt like I wasn't being taught enough, to the point I felt bad for not catching on as fast, though I am a fast learner. I decided to give this a shot and start from 0 once again. The teacher goes step by step in detail. I wasn't expecting an online lesson to be this great Thank you, you have restored my love and hope for violin. Maria T.

5 Stars!
The course is very in-depth and Chuck goes over the lessons very meticulously so you won't have to pause it and rewind. I'm still taking the course but so far, I've been loving it. Thanks, Chuck! Gavin G.

It's explained really clearly, only done up to section 4, but I leant how to hold the bow properly. My pinky was incorrect, so hopefully I will see an improvement going forward.

By Mariam Orupabo on 9/10/2026

i love how he’s explaining every single detail in a very beginner friendly way! i’m not even a beginner but i’m learning things i didn’t even know about

By Criss Hemlin on 8/18/2026

Very clean-cut and well explained. I love that he goes over the very basics and foundations to help a beginner without rushing through content.

By Kyle Mondron on 3/29/2026

This is a premature rating Udemy made me provide. I haven’t seen enough to know if this course is helpful. So far, moderately so.

By Udemy User on 3/27/2026

In the first few minutes of this course I’ve already learned things about holding the bow that in in-person teacher and on-line courses have not told me! The course is already worth the cost! Thank you!

By Jesse F Williamson on 3/17/2026

Not too bad, but sometimes things were taught in very strange order (why was reading music so late?) and more importantly there were lengthy and unbelievably repetitive sections on metronomes. These were absolutely out of place yet required by the Udemy course system; not necessarily the instructor's fault, but absolutely a problem. The instructor was clear and the sessions were best for me when they were play-along.

By Peter Brandsen on 2/27/2026

This is a fantastic course for beginners because it includes a sheet with sheet music—which is so important—that makes it extremely easy to understand where to place my chubby fingers on the violin. Thank you for this course.

By Rahul Sathe on 2/4/2026

Yes, The course is good. Small suggestion if you display real time notes below the video which display which string your playing and which finger we need to press that will be really helpful.

By Lochlan Shaw on 1/23/2026

Very informative for beginners. Clear instruction on how to use the instrument properly, with emphasis on avoiding damaging the instrument from the outset and attaining proper technique for optimum playing. Some courses may skip over this fundamental detail, but this course clearly outlines these fundamentals so you can play more efficiently when you actually start playing the violin.

By Aske Baumann on 11/9/2025

very helpful! as a complete beginner trying to learn violin and continuing my 7+ years of playing piano, it went slow enough for me to understand strings from my background of playing keys :)

By Marjean Allen-Dunn on 11/15/2020

yes

By Shannon Fillmore on 11/15/2020

Very sweet man, I would say "hehe I am learning violin"
