The Power of Constraints
Just as children communicate effectively with a basic vocabulary, guitar players can benefit from focusing on a limited set of notes. By narrowing our focus to specific areas of the neck and a limited number of notes, we can build a solid foundation for improvisation.

This course was so much better than some that I paid a lost more elsewhere. No fluff, just straight up how to play, and done in the easiest way I have seen...... now to speed this up and adapt it to some British Rock!! Cheers Erich - I loved every minute of it. Just wish I could download the backing tracks to put through my amp when practicing

I’m not sure if this was a case of when the student is ready the teacher will appear or if the course was just outstanding. I’m not a beginner, I’ve been playing for a long time but never really progressed beyond the pentatonic boxes approach. I’m one of those people that needs to really understand why something works before I can make the most out of it. This course was an epiphany for me. Wish I’d been taught this when I first picked up a guitar. I even started realizing things that aren’t explicitly taught in the course. For example, while I was practicing the exercises I started to notice that the CAGED triads of the A chord will match with a corresponding color coding of the blues scale in that exercise. That probably won’t make sense if you don’t know how the CAGED system works and what each triad is, but holy cow, trust me, once you see it you can’t unsee it. The course is fantastic for beginners, imo, but even better for people who are intermediates that can see things under the hood and extrapolate what’s being taught on the surface. Whether it’s suitable for advanced players, no idea, I’m not advanced, yet.

So far so good. I have a want and desire to start jumping ahead and stringing more patterns together as I've been a working bass player for 20+ years. I'm glad Erich breaks these concepts down as simply as he does, because learning any instrument is all about taking small bites and chewing on them slowly.

Hayır, beklentimi karşılamadı. Çünkü derste sadece diyagram var. Sürekli backing track ' in içine düşmüşsün gibi . Sadece akor ve pentatonik. You tube da çok eğitim videosu var. Buna para verilmez.

I really enjoyed this course and all the jam tracks and resources / diagrams. I wish I had this course years ago before I ever learned the 5 pentatonic boxes. I can't wait to implement all these patterns and use the jam tracks. This course is laid out very well and was easy to understand. Craig Ewinger

The approach and explanations are great. Looking at the blues scale this way really is fun and easy but still challenging in its own way. Also the first set of backing tracks (in A) are great to experiment and try out the newly learned. Why 4 stars then? The second half of the course are the same jam tracks in different keys (each track in C, G, E and D). And in order to complete the course you have to listen to all off them. I would prefer to have them as an optional download.

Very good match. I am really taking my time to work through each lesson. Playing along with jam tracks is new for me and is a challenge. I am really enjoying the whole experience and this is material I can understand and use.

Very good match! Erik is a very experienced guitar teacher and his teaching skills really shine through on this lesson. I understood the octaves before this lesson , it's just a different concept and I'm excited about it !!!

This is truly a minimalistic way to play blues solo. But do you know what, this is excellent. Its indeed the easiest way to understand what a blues solo is made of, and by the way, without pain, learn the guitar fretboard. Dude, if you got this, you got the base. Thank you Erich, well done!
