Erich Andreas has taught guitar for about 40 years, and this is his catch-all Udemy course: 340 lectures and roughly 40 hours that run from the first beginner module through chords, theory, fingerpicking, slide, blues licks and even sweep picking. About 330,000 students have enrolled and it carries a 4.5 rating from nearly 47,000 reviews. The syllabus is front-loaded for beginners. The Beginner and Intermediate modules are long and methodical, while several Advanced sections are only a few minutes each. Treat it as a solid beginner and early intermediate program with a grab bag of advanced tasters at the end.

Five-star reviewers, who make up nearly 60 percent of the ratings, like how slowly and carefully he explains each idea, and intermediate players say going back to the basics still turned up things they had missed. The complaints are consistent and worth taking seriously. For fingerstyle classes, suggest to focus the camera on the fingers instead of maintaining a wide angle view for video. Unable to clearly see which string you are picking and which finger you are using because of wide angle camera.

This course is good for what it is, but it is by no means exhaustive training in any way. However, for the money, it is pretty decent. I already knew all the theory from other courses over the years. I didn't feel like it was teaching you to play in all the different genres, which is what I was looking for. All of the scales that are taught can easily be found on the internet.
