Course Description
--------------------------------
PLEASE NOTE:
A few months ago, Blynk completed a significant revamp of their platform. The revamp introduced new features, and ended support for others.
Blynk 2.0 is much more powerful then the legacy version, and cheaper for hobbyists. It maintains the familiar graphical user interface for creating mobile applications, and adds a cloud dashboard. It also offers a significantly upgraded Arduino library packed with features, including support for over the air firmware upgrades.
We have updated the course to cover all new features, and to bridge your knowledge from Blynk "legacy" to Blynk "2.0".
--------------------------------
With this course, you will learn how to use the Blynk platform to create apps for iOS and Android that work with the Arduino Nano 33 IoT and the ESP32 or any other supported device.
With a Blynk smartphone app, you will be able to create powerful applications that integrate your smartphone with any supported device to read data from sensors, control motors, log data, and send out notifications.
The Blynk Platform consists of a smartphone application for Apple iOS and Android, microcontroller libraries for dozens of devices like the Arduino MKR 1010, and server software for Linux or Windows hosts.
The Blynk smartphone app is like the Arduino IDE: it is a smartphone app editor that allows you to compose your smartphone app using a simple drag-and-drop interface.
No programming is needed.
The main focus of the Blynk platform is to make it super-easy to develop the mobile phone application.
As you will learn in this course, developing a mobile app that can talk to your Arduino is as easy as dragging a widget and configuring a pin.
The Blynk device libraries make it easy to connect an Arduino or other microcontroller to a Blynk project. For programming a device like the Arduino Nano 33 IoT or the ESP32, you will use the Arduino IDE.
And, the Blynk server is the component that allows your Blynk smartphone app and as many devices as you want to integrate within one or more Blynk projects.
This course is perfect for people who want to create mobile phone-powered microcontroller applications.
You may want to create a home automation system, a rocket launcher, a robot, or even an industrial automation application.
All this is possible with Blynk.
This course will introduce you to the Blynk platform through a series of projects based on an Arduino Nano 33 IoT and an ESP32.
You will also show you how to set up your Blynk private server on a Raspberry Pi Zero W so that you can create applications without limitations of size and performance that the public server imposes.

It took me two days to setup a Blynk Server and Esp32 device and get everything to commuicate with each other, short to the point and interesting listening

Dr. Peter is very complete throughout his lessons. Easy to understand, clean audio, resource material clearly labeled, step by step with answers to anticipated questions. An Excellent teacher!!

Excellent course and presentation. The images are easy-to-read without jumping to the pause button. And more important, the lessons apply to projects most viewers can do. Robot and smart home builders should love this course.

The course is a bit awkward, but in general has useful content for setting up a Blynk app and a good overview of the different Blynk widgets. The setup portion of the course uses the ESP 32, then he switches to Nano IOT for the remainder. I think it would have been better to pick one board and go all the way through with it. This way if the student wanted to follow along they would not need to switch devices. This course suffers from the same problems this instructor has with all of his courses. The parts list offers alternatives for different hardware, but doesn't make it clear they are alternatives, so you have to skim through the course to figure out what you actually need. One of the parts links goes to an unavailable product, which is another common problem with his courses. He mostly teaches by explaining sample code, rather than live coding. I know some people prefer that, and some people hate it, so keep that in mind before purchasing. He also goes through exhaustive explanations of fairly self-explanatory options in the Blynk platform. You can of course skip past this, but I think that time could have been better spent building more interesting projects. Overall this is a good introduction to the Blynk platform, but some improvements are needed to make it a better student experience.

I originally gave this four stars. Peter is an excellent lecturer and there is good value in the course..... HOWEVER he has not kept up with fixing missing links or answering students questions in the last few months. I'm hoping that he's okay as he was always good at answering questions in a timely manner. However it can be frustrating having missing resource links and questions not answered.

I really enjoy Peter’s courses because I find them to be very clear, with the videos very well executed. He breaks the course up very logically, with each section being quite manageable. He provides a very detailed outline, which makes it quite easy to navigate, especially if I want to go back for a quick review. There are lots of similar courses from which to choose, but I feel that Peter has set the bar quite high. Kudos!

Perfect match and I learnt some interesting and useful methods for future projects. Peter's knowledge and ability to explain the content, simply was brilliant. Extends my projects capability tremendously. Peter pays attention to the details and does not gloss over material, so you feel confident you understand the subject.
