Course Description
EmberJS has altered the way people now create web applications by allowing developers to focus more on building the app, rather than working on backend coding. What is EmberJS? It is an open-source JavaScript application framework that works on the client-side allowing developers to create scalable web applications.
Based on the model-view-controller (MVC) pattern, EmberJS gives developers a set of tools that work in collaboration to provide a complete development stack. In addition, the Ember CLI allows the developer to have a standard structure and a build pipeline, enabling them to drastically reduce the development time of an application.
Ember is currently one of the hottest technologies on the market and is used in numerous popular websites including Chipotle, Groupon, Vine, Discourse, Nordstrom and Live Nation.
With one of the fastest growing technologies, it is no surprise that a lot of developers want to add this application to their skill set. Our course is designed to teach you everything you need to learn about EmberJS and how it works.
This video tutorial will teach you the fundamentals of the technology as well as all the associated components required for building a fully-functional website or application using EmberJS. While primarily considered as a framework for websites, Ember can also be used to develop desktop and mobile applications.
Our online course will cover basics such as what is Ember, how does Ember exactly work, setting up NodeJS, Ember-cli, routing, models, templates, components and services. It will also teach you how to incorporate all of these technologies to create a working ToDo List Application.
What are the benefits of learning EmberJS?
- EmberJS has a flexible framework which allows you to speed up the performance of your application without having to constantly reload the whole page
- Handlebars template ensures that the HTML stays up-to-date even when the underlying model changes
- The data binding is fully supported, which means if one value is changed, the other one is automatically updated.
- EmberJS has the ability to automatically determine routes and controller and makes it easier to shareable URLs.
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Set up NodeJS environment
- Fully understand what is Ember and how to use EmberJS to create web applications
- How do routes, templates and linking routes function
- How handlebars, controllers and data binding function
- How to get data from models and use the Ember Data Library
- To create an application using EmberJS
This comprehensive guide has been designed to give you the complete knowledge of EmberJS and how it can be effectively used to create a working application. With this tutorial, you will not only get the theoretical knowledge but also hands-on knowledge of how to design a functional application with Ember. With all of this and more, all you have to do is click Enroll and step into a world of easy learning.

Course info is from 2015 and has a LOT of deprecated info in it. This course uses EmberJS version 1.13.13, so if you want to take this course and follow along exactly, try your best to get the versions used in the lessons, otherwise you'll end up like me and spend more time in the docs trying to convert the code shown into working code. Due to the limited amount of EmberJS course on Udemy (at the time of writing this review 6/1/2019) there is still some value for Developers in this course, albeit very painful. I would not suggest a junior developer take this course unless very driven to do so. I give tons of credit to the instructor on creating this course, but alas it seems to be abandoned since no real updates seem to be added. I had hopes when I saw it was last updated in 12/2018 but still most info was very outdated. Best of luck to everyone taking this course and to the instructor on future updates and courses! Happy Hacking!

This course was just what I needed to get started in Ember. With all the recent changes in Ember and particularly firebase/ember-fire there was quite a learning curve to get started with. Although the end result is that I have a far better understanding of Ember now. The Todo application was an excellent choice and deceptively simple. Including quite complex functionallity in a simple intuitive layout. Thanks for a great course.

This course is out-of-date and the instructor seems not really motivated to teach. If you really need this, you do not have much of a choice, because there are only a few Ember courses on Udemy. I really recommend the Ember Docs, which also have a section to code a sample app.

I just got a new job using Ember, which seems to no longer be a hugely trendy framework. There aren't many courses on Udemy about this subject, however I found this course to helpful to get started and build some functioning apps using Ember. There are a few sections where I needed to search online for the most up to date syntax or method for something because I was running a newer version of the framework, but it wasn't anything I couldn't figure out as a trained developer.

This Tutorial provides a great learning with step-by-step guidance on creating an example ember.js application. Anyone who is new to ember.js will find this Tutorial very useful to get started. For anyone who is already familiar with ember.js, though, they may find this tutorial a little supportive. The explanation of various core concepts of ember.js are all related to the creation of the tutorial app.

First, Ember is a fantastic framework, it does take a very time to catch on to the "ember" way of doing things. That's what makes this course great, it answers the questions every beginner has, and than expounds upon it for the more advanced users. The prototype built is also a great reference to see the "right" way to do something in Ember. Great for beginners, great for experts.

Very straightforward to follow - content is slightly out-of-date, and core concepts could use a little more explanation - I know what code to write, and the nature of the framework makes it easy to figure out why it needs to be written, but an explanation of what Ember is doing under the hood with the code would be invaluable - especially for a framework as opinionated as Ember. Understanding the reasoning behind certain conventions and patterns, and how the framework handles the code would really make the course far more valuable. For example - what object is bound to "this" inside of certain blocks? Exactly how does Ember.Controller.extend make use of the object it is passed? These are all things which would help a student understand the framework much better.

Content is good, well presented. When he gets to the application of the concepts, and especially in pulling it all together, he says "we do things A, B and C" without really explaining why certain aspects are going in certain areas, and when following along, it's really easy to find yourself just quickly doing everything he is, as opposed to understanding why specific things are happening and how the pieces are connecting. That being said, I think I adequately understand EmberJS after this course

I've completed 75-80% of the course and it have gotten a lot out of it. I've come out with a much better understand of how Ember works and what it can do. The only issue is that a lot of features have been deprecated and some times the code doesn't work. But, visiting the EmberJS website to find a solution or fix was VERY easy. Goes to show how good Ember and the community really is!

Thank you Brad. I was extremely happy with this course. I did a lot of research looking for an Ember course and I found very few that were recent enough using Ember 2.0. Brad is very easy to understand and follow. Almost all of his examples worked perfectly for me on the first try. The seldom occasions something didn't work was only due to an update from Ember. (You can find the answers within minutes if you look at Ember Docs). I highly recommend this course to get your feet wet with Ember. Thanks!
