Course Description

This course will give you the tools you need to create your own custom search application. Throughout this course, you'll see how rewarding Elasticsearch can be to work with and how to use it to build a real search application complete with results, highlighting, filters, and autocomplete.Starting with an introduction to Elasticsearch and client-side applications, we'll then move on to learn how Elasticsearch automatically classifies field types, and what to do if they need to be overridden. We will also cover many of the query types that Elasticsearch provides to return results for our AngularJS application. Once we have some basic results, we will add filters (called aggregations in Elasticsearch) to make it easy for users to narrow down the results to a specific topic. Then we will cover how to implement autocomplete and highlighting, and ultimately wrap up with an overview of deployment and security. This course will equip you with the tools that you need to craft rich search interfaces that deliver great results to your users.About the AuthorDaniel Beach is a search architect, specializing in client-side application development. He works at Opensource Connections where he has built search applications for organizations ranging from publishers to government agencies.Who this course is for:
  • If you are a web developer who is looking to make your content more discoverable, this is the course for you.

Even though i haven't finished 100% on this course, but i can already say this course is great and useful. I first though this is about purely "Elasticsearch" but the lecturer also showed us a lot about Client Side Application with Angular which is really great!

One thing only! Can we get all this source-codes PLEASE?! :D

By Juan Herbst

Course focus too little on ElasticSearch and too much on building an Angular app.

By Pranab

the tutorial is very fast and less informative

By David Edwards

very easy to understand, english language is spoken very clearly and WITHOUT AN ACCENT

By Gil Felot

Nice tutorial but some explanation are really fast and it would be good to reupload video with the new version of ES (v5.X).

By Kirill Chokparov

Good structured course with mostly good explanations.

Course was already outdated 2 years ago. It should be updated or removed from Udemy. Also would need more in-depth examples, sometimes the instructor just mentions or lists features and rushing through sections without giving an example. Sometimes the given examples are unclear or unrelated...

explains some elasticsearch techniques, usefull as basic tutorial

By Lee Choon Foo

The latest elasticsearch version is 2.2.1 now. The configuration/setup and functions has a bit different.
