Course Description

This course will give you the tools you need to create your own custom search application. Throughout this course, you'll see how rewarding Elasticsearch can be to work with and how to use it to build a real search application complete with results, highlighting, filters, and autocomplete.Starting with an introduction to Elasticsearch and client-side applications, we'll then move on to learn how Elasticsearch automatically classifies field types, and what to do if they need to be overridden. We will also cover many of the query types that Elasticsearch provides to return results for our AngularJS application. Once we have some basic results, we will add filters (called aggregations in Elasticsearch) to make it easy for users to narrow down the results to a specific topic. Then we will cover how to implement autocomplete and highlighting, and ultimately wrap up with an overview of deployment and security. This course will equip you with the tools that you need to craft rich search interfaces that deliver great results to your users.About the AuthorDaniel Beach is a search architect, specializing in client-side application development. He works at Opensource Connections where he has built search applications for organizations ranging from publishers to government agencies.Who this course is for:

Excellent course with great topics. Sometimes it should be said more to specific topic, but never mind. What really bothers me, is that syntax is outdated:Now it is not supported e.g.:- filtered query- not_analyzed mapping index option- string type (text instead)- etc

Since I know most of the concepts in search, I only needed a quick run through on how elasticsearch can be used and this course provided me exactly that.

I thought this course was very informative. It explained a lot of the concepts of Elasticsearch while building out the interface using one of the most popular front-end frameworks being used today.I did feel the author went fast in a few places but that didn't detract from the course for me. I actually used his Elasticsearch examples on setting up my own Elasticsearch project.

Informativer Kurs, leider manchmal etwas schnell.Inhaltlich ein zielgerichteter Kurs der sich gut auf die Praxis anwenden lsst.

Tempo is much too fast, it is a nice demo for the capabilities of Elastic search, but apart from that this is not for the starter or people that have no experience yet with Elastic Search

There is quite a lot of good information but this tutorial suffers from the following (just my perspective):1. The instructor is too fast for you to understand and sink the information provided2. Combining Elastic Search and Angular makes it much more difficult to understand why are things done in a particular way and you will end up divided between the thought weather this is angular or elastic3. There is hardly any emphasis on why queries are built a specific way. This is more like type this and it will work (for a specific need). This seems more like a demo than a tutorial. Will have to look for another tutorial.

Incredibly helpful course. Well worth the $20ish i paid.

Half a star is too much for this course! such a misleading title! The course is simple ES with some angular js stuff, nothing to do with how to build a ES server! The instructor is horrible ! i had very hard time understand what is he talking about , he explain too fast and skip the details that i had to pause, go back and listen 5 times t understand what he is talking about and i knew ES so it was not like i had no idea of ES! also the examples sometimes got nothing to do with what he talks about! overall giant waste of time and money!!!

this curse is good, basic but good.

installation process is quite outdated in the current day I'm watching this video
