Course Description

The goal of this course is to take a student with little or no experience programming in C# and to make them a complete master of the language.

Whether you want to:

  • Build the skills you need to land your first C# programming job

  • Move to a more senior software developer position

  • Ace a coding interview at a top tier tech company like Google, Apple, Facebook, or Microsoft

  • Take the Microsoft Certification Exam 70-483 that tests your C# knowledge

  • Build professional quality video games in the Unity game engine

  • Or just learn C# to be able to build professional quality apps

…this complete C# tutorial is the course you need to do all of this, and more.

Why should you learn C#?

  • C# is an in-demand skill, and one of the most popular programming languages in the world.

  • It is powerful, flexible, and well supported and is used in a wide variety of industries including Investment Banking, Mobile App Development, Web Development, and Game Development.

  • This course will teach you not only C#, but the key computer science concepts like Data Structures and Algorithms, Searching and Sorting, and Gang of Four Design Patterns. This course will help you ace interviews and get a job.

How is the course structured?

The course goes in order building up from basic to intermediate and then to advanced.

Most sections of the course have a quiz at the end, then a video explaining the answers to the quiz questions, and have several interview questions with detailed answers that relate to that section. That means as you learn the material you will be mastering crucial interview questions based on the subject matter you are learning.

At the end of the course there are 7 real world project where you build apps and a video game using C# and absorbing all kinds of knowledge about industry software and key programming techniques.

There is also a section in the course with a beginner, intermediate, and advanced C# quiz, a full length practice test on C#, and several videos where I show you how to solve a bunch of potential interview questions and coding problems using C# and the techniques you learned in the course.

How is this course different than the other C# courses on Udemy?

This course is a through, comprehensive tutorial on the C# programming language.

Some courses teach you the theory, others teach through hands-on projects. This course combines both approaches.

In addition to teaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced C#, this course also breaks down all the Gang of Four design patterns, teaches searching and sorting techniques, and data structures and algorithms.

This course has more practice material than the other courses, with a quiz after most sections to test your knowledge, links to free online learning resources, and videos that walk you through solving coding interview and challenge questions using the C# techniques you have learned.

This is the only C# course you will ever need.

I made this course to be the only C# course you will ever need. A course that you can come back to and master the advanced techniques, and a course that you can pick-and-choose what to learn based on your goals and interests.

There is no filler material and no nonsense in this course. If I added a video or resource to this course, it is because I believe it to be important to your journey as a programmer. To truly reap the benefits of C#, and become a master of the C# programming language, you should strive to complete as much of the course as you can.

Are there real-world projects in this course where you can apply the skills you learn hands-on?

There are! In fact, you will build 6 hands-on apps in this course! You will use your C# skills to develop:

  • A database application using Microsoft SQL Server and C#

  • A Web App using ASP .Net

  • A cross-platform Mobile App using Xamarin

  • A neural network AI program using C#

  • A machine learning program using ML .Net and C#

  • A 3D Marvel Fighting game using Unity, Mixamo, and C#

I will walk you through building each of these projects step by step, so don’t worry about getting overwhelmed or stuck! My students know I break down the big concepts into digestible pieces of information that anyone can understand.

It is quite comprehensive. I haven't seen any sources other than the language definition that includes as much and the definitions don't explain anything. Needs to give the example code in a form that can be imported into programs though.

Has been a great journey, I though I had seen advance coding until I reached the "Design Patterns" part I still have a lot to comprehend, but it was refreshing to see something new. I wish that every design had a little problem for us to solve using the design patters to deeply understand the subject. A few word regarding the Section 43: Hands-On: Building a 3D Marvel Fighting Game, It is really good, but unfortunately is hard to follow as the speed up in the videos makes hard to know what is happening some times. Some of the tools used in Unity could use some explaining as I spend some time (while replicating the project) understating how to properly use, move and adjust the cubes/hitboxes. Overall, it has been a great experience. This course will be a reference point any time that I need to refresh my understanding. Thank you.

- It would be good if the source code of the example is also given - It is not a good training to read aloud the typed in source code, but would be better to tell what is the goal. For example (pseudo code): Console.Location(x,y); Console.Color=red; Console.Print('x'); Console.Location(x,y); The lecturer reads the lines, by lines, instead of telling, that we make red 'x' at the location x,y, with the following 4 lines.

There is alot of information that is covered. When you are on a deadline it seems like alot of information at once. the subject videos with a max of about 5 mins makes it easy to get through. Having the transcript up helps if you feel like you missed something he said. (transcript does have some errors.)

I have tried many courses but this course was the best and it is help full because it breaks a big thing in to small things on a 1 minute videos and it is complete it will teach you everything to get a job even how to do interviews for a job basically the course you will ever need to master c#

The course definitely covers a lot. I think this is one of the bigger benefits of this course. One thing I suggest is making an example copy of everything he goes through just to help what you learn sink in. One of the downsides is I think it would have been nice to have assignments early on. I found Section 44 was extremely fun and challenging and helped me remember what he was teaching even though my solutions ran slow. It would be nice to have had assignments like that in earlier sections of the course. One other thing I would have liked is for the screen to either been zoomed out when a line of code was really long or for a pause that would have been long enough to see what was typed. Last, I have some previous college education in Java, C++, ASP.net and MSSQL. I'm not entirely certain this course would have been easy to follow from the start if it wasn't for past knowledge. So this might be a better course for more intermediate learners.

This course is excellent! It covers the full breadth of the C# language (along with related areas such as ASP.NET and Unity) in a systematic and methodical way which is really useful to go from beginner to advanced. A few areas are slightly light on detail, but given the scale of topics covered, this is more than understandable. Overall, this is a brilliant course which I would highly recommend.

This is an excellent course. Lots of good information. Thank you so much for making this. I like the no nonsense approach. It is precise and to the point. Allowing me to learn more information at a faster and more efficient pace. Thank you again.

By Adrian V on 12/9/2020

I have mediocre knowledge of other languages (Python3, React.js). I get the info I need, only the course is too "straightforward" for me, without exercises. Its more of a list of things and its usage. So its kinda hard for me to follow the lectures, since I lack engagement/achievement in learning (eg. in form of exercises or "tasks"). Also some things are first used and then explained in later sections and that was confusing at times. Another (minor) thing: I am not native and some terms are not well put, so I have to look online for further info. In the end, the course is fine with minor setbacks.

This is the best C# fundamentals course. It gives solid C# foundation. I took this course to learn C# for the automation testing. This course teaches not only C#, but it also teaches computer science including algorithms and design patterns. The instructor is the professional C# developer from the professional computer science school. This is huge plus. Plus, the instructor teaches professionally at the computer science institute. It is very rare, on the Udemy, to find software developer with the professional level education and experience. This course lectures are quick and very effecting covering each topic. The course has quizzes at the end of each section before the first project. Each quiz is very good, and it does help to learn the material. I really liked the structure and the questions asked. I also liked the basic, intermediate, advanced, and full C# quiz towards the end of the course. The instructor gives very good advice on building professional portfolio, interview, and resume writing. I highly recommend taking this course. Thank You Very Much for the outstanding course!
