Course Description
Computer Science is a topic that is becoming more and more relevant. Whether in college, school or at work. Computers and computer programs are everywhere in our everyday lives. We use software in smartphones, ATMs and even household appliances that we are able to control with our smartphones. A lot of people are confused and don't really know how all of this actually works
This compact course will take you from zero knowledge to having a solid understanding of the basic concepts of computer science and programming languages.
To keep the course interesting and entertaining, we use a lot of examples to explain the individual topics. Amongst many other things we will learn about the importance of algorithms and how we can create one and why they are incredibly important. We will also learn about different approaches to programming such as imperative, declarative and object oriented programming. We're going to give you real world examples outside of code and computer programs to make sure everybody is able to understand what we are talking about.
At the end of this course you will have a fundamental understanding of the most important concepts of computer science and programming and can try your luck on an easy test exercise. The course also contains a kind of glossary where we've listed definitions and explanations for the most important terms so you always have them at your fingertips.
So if you always wanted to know how computers actually work, what a programmer does and how we are using computers to develop our own programs join us in this course!

Good course for beginner however I suggest to keep the glossary words first after a brief introduction and then the further videos can be easy to understand. Like I went back to imperative and declarative session again after reading glossary. Rest a little bit more knowledge can be added as I think this is not enough for beginners.

Some of this beginner course I have already read about in a book I bought on Python, but it's nice to have someone explain it to me so that I can gauge how much I understood teaching myself. I really like how easy to understand this presenter is and he links concepts together nicely. I did enjoy programming alongside an author from a book but it left some things to be desired and a lecture is a pleasant way to practice speaking in a world of jargon.

Very basic course, and was a bit upset at the beginning, but later on found it very useful. Funny, that I myself graduated college in digital technologies, and was programming without truly understanding it. What you get in educational institutions is just very abstractive theoretical descriptions, and courses like that helps to understand it better even after graduation with diploma in distinction :)

Good, easy to understand. The way this course should be done. Though, I didn't find the Pseudocode challenge, that is mentioned in the 16th lecture.

This was a great coarse for me! I'm brand new to Computer Science and Programming - the material was easy/simple enough for me to understand and allowed me to grasp important concepts to help start my programming journey.

I am not sure if this is the correct direction to be going, but it appears this is a general starting point. I wish to reverse engineer automotive embedded firmware to be able to locate additional function (features) and assign switches to them, and create new functionality.

I've actually started learning programming but decided to go over basic concepts, since I'm don't have a computer science background. Although I've understood some of the concepts through practice and conversations, it was very useful to go over them in a clear and systematic way. Thank you Timothy!

This course is perfect for absolute beginners. It offers a good explanation of all of the basics and provides a solid foundation for programming.

Yes. Currently trying to learn Python. Trying to wrap my head around the big picture at the same time. Very well done so far.
By Martin Nguyen on 12/23/2017
He knows what he is saying and he is very professional. I wish he could show how to do computer science instead of showing the worlds and definitions but he is still professional.
