Course Description
In this project based course you will learn to make a 3D Photo-realistic house right from a blank template with the updated rendering features of AutoCAD.
You will learn
To make the 3D model of a two bedroom house
To add the 3D furnishings like sofa, Chair, Bed etc
To make the 3D photorealistic rendering using latest rendering engine from AutoCAD
To make an animated walk-through video from your 3D model
To make 2D floor plan, section, elevations with dimensions
To plot the 2D plans with proper scale and paper size
So, it must be pretty obvious that you will learn about lots of tools and commands of AutoCAD 3D using this project and by the end of this course you will have your own set of 3D photo-realistic house with its 2D plans and you can use this course as a reference to make your own 3D house and its 2D plans.
The prerequisites
This course has been made with AutoCAD 2016 and 2019 version and I recommend at least 2016 version for this course, any later version will be perfectly fine too.
If you have AutoCAD 2015 or any previous version of AutoCAD then I recommend you to get the latest one as most of the rendering features are now enhanced and many are replaced with new one.
AutoCAD student version is free and you can get it for free from Autodesk website with three year student license.

The course is well laid out and fairly easy to follow, but keep in mind that it does use a fairly dated version of AutoCAD. I was using AutoCAD 2025 and there were a few times where I had to hunt through menus and forums to find where things had shifted to or what they'd been renamed to. Once I had that information, I was able to seamlessly follow along despite choosing to make a very different house than the model one.

I feel like a brief introduction to the interface would not be out of place. I was not immediately aware of how to track points to align the door to the wall, or that the selection tool has a different behaviour depending on whether the mouse button is pressed. Likewise it would have been helpful if the intructor emphasized that tools operate in two stages, the first where the object is selected, and the second where it is actually transformed. The instructor seems to have missed switching from one workspace to another in Sec. 3. Otherwise, the course has good pace and content, but one must be reminded that a fairly specific topic and process are treated.

It was a nice course and I really felt that i learned to do exactly what he did, like doing a tutorial but i expected to learn a little more about why i was using the tools. Like for example for extruding he used different tools in similar cases and doesn't explain why. Also, it is fast so if you do not know cad basics you should learn it before doing the course, i wold say it is intermediary-advanced. Oh and the teacher is engaging, sometimes even funny and he answered my question with details and images very fast which was great. thank you

The classes were extraordinary. In these classes, I got to learn more about how to present the drawings, models and plans. I had prior knowledge of the contents but this course was whole lot new to me. Thank you, sir, for such valuable informative classes.

Yes, very good so far. It is a course that makes you work for the results. I replayed certain parts and got the same results. The instructor is skipping past elements of the course. The setup of the house is different. I can work it out and well it is not really that hard to do. Many of these courses are over complicated by the instructors and i not really gaining any more insight in how to use this software. Jim

It's a very good course to refresh my AutoCAD. I use Revit, but the explanation of adjusting materials was very helpful. Thank you.

The course is great. Gives you the basics of 3D modeling in CAD. The only thing missing from the course is course material for section 4 about rendering in 2016 and later versions. I would recommend this course to anybody.

This is the third course I've taken from this presenter and the quality of the presentation keeps improving. The 15 to 20 lecture course seems to work better than the longer courses, so AutoCAD 2D or 3D courses for specific topics would be of interest.

A really great end to end walkthrough of AutoCad. It was awesome to go from 2D to 3D, on to final renderings and an animated walkthrough, an then to printed floor plans. I liked the fact that it was project based so I could keep my bearings in each module. Looking forward to more tutorials!

The content was very informative and the explanations very clear. The instructor speaks very clear and simply but at the same time you learn many things within almost an hour! It helped me a lot, thank you Jaipraksh!
