This course provides an overview of all the Gang of Four (GoF)design patterns as outlined in their seminal book, together with modern-day variations, adjustments, discussions of intrinsic use of patterns in the language.

What are Design Patterns?

Design Patterns are reusable solutions to common programming problems. They were popularized with the 1994 bookDesignPatterns:
Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented SoftwarebyErich Gamma,John Vlissides, Ralph Johnson and Richard Helm(who are commonly known as a Gang of Four, hence the GoF acronym).

The original book was written using C++and Smalltalk as examples, but since then, design patterns have been adapted to every programming language imaginable: Swift, C#, Java, PHP and even programming languages that aren't strictly object-oriented, such as JavaScript.

The appeal of design patterns is immortal:
we see them in libraries, some of them are intrinsic in programming languages, and you probably use them on a daily basis even if you don't realize they are there.

Very knowledgeable instructor @nesteruk, but for some design patterns the examples were a little complicated which required multiple views. Anyway, thanks for the sessions!

Very good course. I definitely recommend this course.
One suggestion from my part is, the examples given for some patterns were too complex and it added extra complexity to the topic itself. If possible, please use simple examples.

Content is very good and all concepts are explained in detail. The development environment editor screen looks blurred due to which I couldn't see the code clearly.

Plenty of content, but the lessons are not very well explained. I like the instructor, but I wish he'd spend more time explaining the design patterns and discussing its usage, instead of just walking us through a complicated example that often is insufficient for real understanding.

A lot of time wasted watching how teacher is writing code which could be already written. In addition, a lot of no sense complex examples to explain patterns.
