Docker Complete Training (Udemy.com)

Straight forward basic docker course.

Because the course is outdated some results are now to be gotten in a slightly different way. However, the topics presented in the PDF's at the end are interesting but because it has a different style, it looks like two different courses have been cropped into one.

Got basics of docker, wanted to understand how actually the containers can work with each other and many other things which i had actually expected. A bit more detailed knowledge regarding the communications between docker client, server and container. Overall it was good for a fresher.

The instructor is VERY hard to understand. Additionally, the instuctor could've paused the video for long downloads; waiting for software to download without pausing the video is a major waste of time and is not teaching anything. I expected to learn about connecting to a remote Docker container over a network as well as how the network setup behind Docker works. This is required in order to use Docker in a commercial environment and most any Docker savvy employer will expect someone with Docker on his/her resume to know this. I was very disappointed when the course concluded without even mentioning remote connectivity over a network. There was one mention of connecting to Docker via IP but that was the localhost; that part should've included at least a small explanation of remote Docker (by substituting a remote IP address?).

I really do enjoy this course.

I expected more details about networking and storage configuration and management inside of containers. The title "Complete Course" pass me the ideia of really "complete" , but it´s not .

The course improved as it progressed. The sound quality past the first three or four episodes is much better. Also the instructor talked slower. Over all, a nice introduction to very basic docker commands. But I did notice one slight issue. When a container has exited, it is no longer in memory. It's just on disk.

docker on cloud environments should be added

- speaker has a strong accent - I missed a more general introduction (What is it used for? What does it solve?) - Videos are in bad quality - the console commands could run on 400x600 Screen but the presenter used 1028x726 with a bad screen resolution quality... a missed opportunity. - Very basic content

The material is a good introduction for those with no previous experience on Virtualization. Overall it should have been 4 stars but two things are disappointing. A) The font on the console is so small that I had to go to the Dockers documentation to read it.... so wasted my time. B) The instructor either is very nervous or doesn't command the material because after every single phrase he slurps and chomps with his mouth, very annoying for a professional presenter.
