Course Description
Imagine being able to develop an application on your local machine and then seamlessly run that application anywhere else without having to worry about compatibility issues or missing dependencies. Docker makes this possible. Almost every big company, be it Spotify, Netflix, or PayPal, uses Docker to deliver applications faster than ever before, and now it's your turn.
This course will teach you how to:
Install and set up Docker on various operating systems
Containerize a wide range of applications built with Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Flask, Spring Boot, Node.js, and more
Build efficient and optimized Docker images using Dockerfiles
Establish seamless communication between containers using Docker networks
Orchestrate and manage multi-container applications, including microservices and databases, using Docker Compose
Handle persistent data storage and manage databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) with Docker volumes
Push Docker images to Docker Hub and implement effective tagging and versioning strategies
Deploy containerized applications to the cloud using Heroku.
Real-World E-commerce Application Project
Throughout the course, you'll work on a realistic e-commerce application composed of multiple microservices, each built with different languages and frameworks. You'll learn how to containerize these microservices, manage their dependencies, and orchestrate the entire application using Docker Compose, and deploy it to the cloud. This hands-on experience will solidify your understanding of Docker's capabilities in a practical setting.
Boost Your Career with Docker Skills
Docker and microservice orchestration are highly sought-after skills in the industry. This course provides software developers and DevOps professionals with the knowledge and tools to streamline development workflows and optimize application deployment.
Enroll in our Docker Bootcamp today and gain the practical skills you need to effectively develop and deploy applications using containerization.

A wonderful course. Well structured. Good pacing. Comprehensive. Easily understood. Excellent teacher. Other Docker courses I took had the approach of "Just do this" and didn't really explain why we were doing it. This instructor thoroughly explained why we did everything we did. I highly recommend this course.

I had worked with docker for a while using Dockerfiles and concepts developed by other people. This course covered gaps in my understanding much more clearly and quickly than the self-directed web searching that I was using. I had an issue with the downloaded course content for workbook-starter-projects\05-starter-projects, but that did not detract from the learning.

I was absolutely new to Docker, and the course is pretty clear. It helped in understanding containers and images, as well as pushing and pulling them. Also, deploying the containers into the cloud was a bonus! My go-to course; I highly recommend it to any beginner looking to learn Docker.

The course is good especially to understand docker from zero. I feel more examples (like nginx) would be nice. I also miss slides and documentation (like a summary of all prompts and the final files in case we miss something)

Interesting, engaging and fairly easy to follow. You should install everything suggested and follow along at home, and roll back to rewatch to get it working. It took me a lot longer than the 5hrs run time to complete as his kit is way better so runs up in seconds and sometimes it takes several minutes, and any typo you might have to redo it. So give yourself plenty of time.

This is an excellent course on Docker for beginners. The instructor takes a purely hands-on approach, keeping theoretical fluff to a minimum. He demonstrates how to containerize various types of applications and microservices, explaining Docker concepts along the way. Highly recommended!

Great course, loved getting hands-on in great detail with Docker, feel like I understand so much more about what it is doing, how and why now. A very powerful concept and tool. Couple of problems on the final exercise deploying to Heroku (the namespace was already used for the application so had to change that, also had a 405 error when pushing to Heroku registry - fixed by deselecting "Use containerd for pulling and storing images" in Docker Desktop settings) Apart from that, great course and Rayan was a great tutor!

Really good start of the course with good examples. As a C# developer for me the course was clear and how to use docker containers for applications. At the end of the course there were some small differences for how to implement the containers to the cloud. Like for example it was first necessary to use the heroku stack:set container -a grade-submission-api command before using the heroku container:release web -a grade-submission-api command. Also the link (https://udemy-redirect-app.herokuapp.com/docker) with the solutions of the workbooks doesn't work. It would be convenient to compare the solutions.

I get the hunch of it, but see some errors like Error adding to cart: Error: {"timestamp":"2025-04-04T13:54:35.554+00:00","status":500,"error":"Internal Server Error","path":"/api/orders/1/cart"} at file:///app/server/routes/orders.js:17:15 at processTicksAndRejections (internal/process/task_queues.js:95:5) I don't bother to ask a question, since they are not answered.

I knew nothing about Docker besides some vague ideas about a few pieces of its vocabulary, and I feel much more confident after going through this thorough course! I appreciate how Rayan stepped us through the basic commands—giving us enough time and practice to feel comfortable with them—before moving onto more advanced topics like Dockerfiles, Docker Compose, and deployment. I also appreciate that the course did not assume pre-knowledge of any given programming language but still allowed us to practice with different languages. I've already bought and will be taking Rayan's Kubernetes course and am looking forward to it.
