Course Description

It really does not matter if you've never played Blues Guitar before, or what age you are, you just need to be enthusiastic about learning to play.

This Blues course is designed to introduce you to fourteen fingerpicking blues songs, featuring a wide variety of styles and which are great for playing and performing and with no improvisation involved.

Although I designed this course primarily for classical guitarists it is also perfect for guitarists of all        styles who have some fingerpicking experience and who are proficient playing basic chords such as G, G7, C, C7 etc.and can be played on any classical, acoustic or semi-acoustic guitar.

No chords involving full bars feature in this course.

Let me take you through the course.

This MISSISSIPPI DELTA BLUES course draws on influences from all the way across the Southern           states of the USA, from Texas in the west to the Carolinas in the east, and gets underway with a 12   Bar Blues (Boxcar Blues) followed by 13 more blues songs in a variety of styles including Ragtime,           Country, Hokum Blues,a Ballad and three gentle jazz/ blues pieces of music.

My ‘Fingerstyle Blues Made Easy’ course has several aims:

I want you love playing all the pieces you will be studying.

I want to enhance your playing and broaden your repertoire by introducing you to many different           styles of Blues music.

And in the case of Classical Guitarists, I take great pleasure in introducing you to a whole new world of    music.

I have used my 35 years experience as a guitar teacher to carefully structure this course to ensure     that you get the maximum pleasure and satisfaction from your guitar playing adventure.

It is not essential to have developed a good Classical Guitar technique to cope with the right hand   Fingerpicking.

You don't even have to read music to take this course. In addition to all the video lessons, every piece of music you will be playing is written out in very easy to understand TAB form as well as standard music notation for those of you who prefer sight read. I've also written helpful notes to complement every video lecture and included invaluable advice on how to best master each piece.

Numerous scientific studies have proved that playing an instrument has huge benefits and enhances general educational learning as well as being incredibly enriching, not only that, but playing the guitar is also a great way for you to make new friends.

I absolutely believe learning has to be fun and I look forward to you joining me on this exciting journey.

I've called upon my 35 years experience as a guitar teacher to create the DISCOVER CLASSICAL GUITAR and FINGERSTYLE BLUES GUITAR MADE EASY courses. I believe that that fastest progress is made by presenting students with a structured progression of varied and exciting music.

I'm as passionate as ever about teaching guitar, I find it wonderfully rewarding to witness the joy, enthusiasm and sense of achievement that learning this instrument brings.

Since studying the classical guitar under Antonio Albeniz at the Guildhall School of Music I have taught the instrument, on a one to one basis to thousands of students. mainly in a number of Kent schools, but also to many adults, some well into their 70's.

My students have played in countless concerts as soloists or within ensembles and many have chosen to perform on the classical guitar as part of their GCSE and A level recitals with some choosing to study music in further education using the classical guitar as their primary instrument.

Yes... a very good match for me. I'm enjoying the course very much... it's challenging enough to keep my interest, while still making progress. The first few songs were quite easy to learn, until I got to St James Infirmary, which I found quite a bit more difficult, but I'm making my way through it. Thank you!

So far. I have a year surfing the net and learning some fingerpicking and how to read tabs. This first lesson on Box Car Blues went well. Really appreciate the tabs and score available for download. Now, I'm going back over the lesson to follow the musical score since I still want to read 'traditional' sheet music as well.

Good teaching style and, for the most part, some memorable fingerpicking tunes. Learning very quickly. Highly recommended.

Another great course from David, with couple of improvements comparing to "Discover Classical Guitar" (separate PDFs for tabs and standard notation and play along videos for chords/solo). I've got a resonator guitar for this course: IMO blues sounds cooler on a steel string guitar and it has almost the same shape/size as a classical guitar so the sitting position can remain the same.

This is another excellent course, thankyou David. I'm progressing through both Classical Guitar courses and am now giving 'the blues' a try. It really is very instructive and easy to follow and together with the music pdf downloads it is looking to be very successful. The extensive knowledge that you are passing on is fantastic and I can certainly see improvement in my playing! A thoughly enjoyable course. Thanks again

This course was well presented by an experienced and clearly very knowledgeable instructor. It is designed for those with some guitar background (it is an intermediate course after all) but is clear, concise and Mr Green leads well by example. An excellent course in my view and good value.

I found the course to be the perfect pace and David to be a really enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructor. The pace, depth and content of the course gave me the confidence to really enjoy playing a new style of music.

As a classical guitarist wanting to learn blues guitar as a complete beginner, David Green's course provided me with all the materials and lessons I could need for a beginner in blues. The course was consistently well explained, in-depth explanations as needed and tabs are written out clearly and concisely after each piece had been taught. Would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn blues guitar!!!

The video it she isn't really that explanatory

By Ian Avery on 7/22/2017

Just like both David's previous courses this is amazing. Very easy to follow thanks to the crystal clear explanations. Original compositions to really help develop a blues style. A huge wealth of interesting material which will definitely help me to improve in this style all broken down note by note in a relaxed style by an experienced teacher. This is a fantastic course which I am delighted to have. A great buy.
