An excellent course! It's helped me get a more advanced and in depth understanding of linux. It covers a wide range of topics at a more advanced level. It's well above beginner level so if you don't know much linux you should do one of the introductory courses first. I'm happy that I took the course.

Using this as a refresher course, so it is helping.. Would have been great if, when he moves to show the commands etc, that his screen would have been zoomed in a little. There have been two of the Sections where it has been zoomed, but others I really have to struggle to see what he is typing especially when there are colours on the screen - and I am using a 21" monitor. Again I saw that the lecturer would use a windowed terminal and the font was even smaller than the fullscreen terminal windows - these were already difficult to read. So I could not read what he was typing - especially in the last modules (101 & 102). Had to rely on what he was saying. Overall a good course still though.

I wanted to have some hands on learning about linux system adminstration specially ubuntu. But this is just a plain explanation and does not contain any exercises (constast to the vim course I took). I am still early in the course but the way its' going, I might not remember all the commands/options. Also, it switches between red hat and ubuntu which are completely different OS. I just want to learn ubuntu to start with so half of it I just have to graze through with 2x speed.

So far I've attended three section on this course but it's very much unclear about what instructor is talking about, I mean if take any topic from the second section onward he explains the few stuff and practically he put some command which is not the part of the topic of what he is explaining. The about explaining 'Fundamentals of Unix and Linux System Administration' so the instructor should be aware of type of audiance that will get, it could be beginer or intermediate. I'm at intermediate level guy in linux and I know that course is not connecting to its audiance, instrustor is just doing its job to finish it ASAP. This is very disappointing.

Generally very good, sometimes due to his accent the presenter is a little difficult to understand. Also the speed at which he runs through some examples is too quick to clearly see what is happening without pausing the video and replaying a couple of times.

I really love how this course covers such a wide range of topics. Also, I really appreciated how the instructor explained the theory behind running each command before jumping to the terminal and demonstrating a hands-on execution. That being said, there are several topics in the course that the instructor does not go into too much depth in and you will definitely have to go and read up on them before continuing (assuming you are not already familiar with them). However, the instructor gives a fair warning at the beginning of the series that he is assuming that students have some prior Linux familiarity, so this is completely expected. Moreover, the instructor uses Red Hat (RPM-based) for most of the course. Though he does try to point out the equivalent instructions for Debian-based Linux distros (e.g. Ubuntu, Kali Linux, etc.), you'll more likely than not find yourself having to Google such equivalents on your own at several points during the series if you use a Debian-based distro. Most of these Google searches were fairly quick, though, so it wasn't too much of a problem for me. Overall, great course!

The instructor is very knowledgeable and showed me how extensive and versatile the Linux/Unix operating system is. With the course as well as my note taking and mind mapping of key concepts covered in the course, I got the best bang for my buck. Now I have something to build on. Thanks.

I love this course! This is a content of great quality. Since I have been taking this course, more than the half of my questions about various tasks to perform as Unix/Linux system administrator have found answers. I sucessfully did most of the Labs on machines here in my work environment. Thanks alot!

For the price it's a bargain to get into system administration. The lecturer is a bit slow to respond to questions etc., there are a couple of errors in the course, some processes/methods are out of date now (systemd), and some parts are badly edited, BUT if you are serious about getting into system administration, then I do HIGHLY recommend this course. If the price was more than $60, then I would go for 4 stars or less, but as this is an affordable course with a LOT of information that is very important, it gets 5 stars.

Words cannot describe how good this course is.We also talking about complete demystification of Linux.Additional courses are needed though for the practical aspects (other Udemy courses,LinuxCbt.com,vtc).This course is THEORY mainly but also includes some practical LABS.
