best course on graphql. learned a lot.
learning in simple words and explained very well. thanks
A very good introductory course to learn GraphQL from scratch and implementing the backend in Java using Spring.
Very informative. Easy concept explanations and equally well practicals.
In this course you are going to learn to GraphQL With Spring Boot and Spring Data JPA.
Now a days Spring framework is widely used among Java Developers and specifically Spring Boot is in high demand to develop REST APIs.
The problem with REST APIs is that it is giving fixed response in the format of the JSON ( JavaScript Object Notation ). So there comes GraphQL in picture. GraphQL provides flexibility that in request itself we can ask which fields we want in response and it populates only those fields.
In simple words we can say select * query in SQL database is like REST API while ability to provide columns (fields) with query and to return only those fields is GraphQL.
GraphQL boosts performance of your application and it gives consumers flexibility that which attributes they want in response. REST API has problem of under and over fetching of data because of fixed structure of response and GraphQL eliminates this by providing only those attributes which are asked in the request.
In this course you will learn GraphQL in detail with Spring Boot and Spring Data JPA using MySQL database. In this course you will learn :-
What is GraphQL ?
Difference between GraphQL and REST API
What is Query in GraphQL ?
What is Mutation in GraphQL ?
What is Schema in GraphQL ?
What is Resolver in GraphQL ?
What is Edge in GraphQL ?
In this course you will learn to create GraphQL Query and Mutation with Spring Boot. You will learn to create Resolver with Edge in Spring Boot.
Project lombok is used to avoid boiler plate code in your Java Application. In this course you learn how to use Project Lombok with Spring Boot Application and you will learn -
How to have getter methods for Java Class using @Getter Annotation.
How to have setter methods for Java Class using @Setter Annotation.
How to have constructor for Java Class using @NoArgsConstructor and @AllArgsConstructor Annotations.
After finishing the course you will be able write GraphQL queries as shown in Promo video and also you will be able to deploy your GraphQL-Spring Boot Application to Heroku which is Cloud Platform.

It is a good introductory course for GraphQL. The content is clearly explained and well presented. I do have a couple of suggestions for improvement: Each time the pom.xml file was updated, my application broke. Without additional assistance such as A.I., it would have been difficult to resolve the issue and continue with the course. The use of Heroku could be reconsidered. It felt unnecessary, especially since there is no longer a free tier available for practical use, which resulted in extra time and cost.

Very good explanation, step by step instruction with good examples. Some feedback is it has content that explains the benefits of graphql over REST with more examples that would be great and also if it has content like how the authentication and authorization would be handled in garphql that would help a lot. Overall I like the content of this course to get understanding graphql. Thank you

The course was excellent. The only thing is that I faced issues as I was using Spring Boot 3.x and had to dig a lot to make projects work, as the course was using Spring Boot 2.x. Keeping aside these issues, it was an excellent learning session. I have learnt so many things from these courses about GraphQL. I feel like a pro now in GraphQL. So, I want to give kudos to the trainer for giving great effort and not wasting viewers' time. It was simple and easy to learn.

Needs Update to Reflect Latest GraphQL Versions I appreciate the effort that went into creating this course — the instructor explains GraphQL concepts clearly and covers a solid range of topics. However, the course content is unfortunately very outdated. The libraries, tooling , and project setup no longer align with the current versions used in 2025. Many of the examples no longer work as shown due to deprecated syntax, changed APIs, or breaking updates in dependencies. For someone new to GraphQL, this creates unnecessary confusion and time spent debugging rather than learning. Recommendation: Please consider updating the course to reflect the latest versions of key libraries, and ideally include notes or a changelog that indicates which version of each dependency is being used. A section on migrating from older versions to current ones would also be helpful for learners coming from older tutorials like this. The core teaching is solid — it just needs to be brought up to date to remain relevant and useful. Thanks again for the course!

It was good to learn GraphQL with springboot as a beginner for GraphQL technology. Initially I felt why he is repeating the sentences and explanations so many times, but later I realised that the repetition has helped a lot to remember the concepts which I am learning. Thank you. Well done. Good job. Keep it up. Rock on.

I had a good experience overall with this course. Just the depth that I needed on GraphQL. I took out one star because of 2 reasons: 1. The author's tone felt a bit unsettling at times but the sentences were all clear. 2. I didn't see the need to include a Heroku cloud chapter in a course for GraphQL. The chapter on Heroku doesn't add anything in terms of core GraphQL concepts. All in all, a good course in GraphQL. I really liked that it was presented in a Spring Boot context.

pros: beginning friendly, I love his explanations, repetition actually helped me remember the concepts. improvement: Heroku chapter could be bonus. automatic transcript wasn't working sometimes. 5 stars either way, it helped me learn what I needed and I completed my graphql related work coming from zero knowledge.

Very good course content. Very thorough in all the aspects. Could have avoided repeating the same points again and again. However, the repeated points will help someone to get the content registered in their memory very strongly. Overall, it is a great course!!
