The instructor is a good narrator and the course is very easy to follow through. The goal of each presentation is clear and the way to get there is explained in a consice manner. However there is a disappointing lack of depth. I don't feel that I get an intuition of the inner workings of Hibernate yet (I'm still halfway through the course). It seems like a set of recipes to obtain a specific set of results. Many times I find myself exploring slightly different setups to get a feeling of what is really going on more than what is presented and getting unexpected results and not being able make sense of these behaviors. I hoped for a more in-depth understanding of the subject.

The course is very good. I got a decent amount of information about JPA and Hibernate that I thought I knew but seems I didn't know well enough after going through the course. One thing I like about this course is how it touches upon some of the topics that are simply not available in other courses, e.g the criteria API, mapping hashmaps in the entities, etc. Kevin's explanation of topics is extremely smooth and elaborate. I like his style of teaching in general. Doesn't leave any doubts or questions if enough attention is paid. One thing can be improved though. The course is not up-to-date and questions are often not answered. This is one area I think infinite skills can improve a bit.

The course is good to start the JPA. Reason for three-star is because the Author won't respond to the queries, That's what I have seen in QA. Some folk really put a lot of efforts to understands trainer should help them

Versions of mySQL and hibernate being used are outdated, thus considerable time must be spent to translate the steps being taken in these lectures into steps that work with mySQL 8.0+
