Neil Fontaine

I'm a best selling author on Amazon for "How to Draw Awesome Figures."

I studied art at different schools, one of them being a community college in San Jose, Ca. Over the years, subjects in art finally clicked. I teach these subjects in ways that make it easy to grasp. It's hard to brag about myself, but students have written me emails saying how they have learned more from me than they did in art schools, art schools such as Academy of Arts in San Franscico. That blew my mind because it's supposed to be a great school.

I also sell abstract paintings that I painted while meditating. A recent painting sold for $10,963. If enough art students ask, I will make a course on how to abstract paint. You can see my paintings at saatchiArt

I'm also a writer that has sold novels.

Great resource for anyone interested in becoming more comfortable working on quick gestural sketches as they try to but more character into their characters. Teaches great tips for how to analyze a scene to provide the most interesting and appropriate poses.

Helped with getting an understanding of gesture drawing and the weight for a character. Plus helped with thinking about the emotion shown in bodies so they don't look stiff so much

this helped me understand weight distribution of a character. depending on their stance. i learned a lot and the the class was easy to follow. I would recommend this to anyone

I wish there were more exercises. People taking this course don't really just want to see the guy drawing, they want to draw themselves, right away. Giving people exercises to do right away would be great. This guy is a bit rambly, and I feel like it's not well-planned. Basic stuff is belabored while important stuff is skipped over. It's not a total waste of time. He is talented as an artist, really, but doesn't present well.

This course is a very good feedback to create expressive poses in a plausible way, the method and elements for drawing poses is very well explained, good course.

Wish there was activities we could follow along with to practice as he does them. Sound could also be brought up, it's very quiet. Otherwise, a good course to take information from, good points, and useful things to take into consideration!

I have some mixed feelings on this course; I have been in college classes, so I'm familiar with basic anatomy and drawing, and I've seen different teaching styles. It was really distracting to constantly hear about the instructor's previous courses (I can understand saying at the beginning that you have them, but repeating throughout the entire course?), and a lot of the actual drawing portions felt like the instructor was rambling, which was making things confusing because topics kept jumping back and forth. I did learn some new tips and tricks I hadn't heard or read about before, and this did help me with opposing forces in a pose that I hadn't been able to fully understand before.

Neils lessons are full of information. Presented in an easy to follow manner. Only one draw back, you'll have to watch them more than once to glean all the knowledge from them. I'm certainly going to keep going through them.

The various course materials were very helpful covering action poses, the thought process behind it, and how to get the idea across quickly so you don't get stuck with things that suck.

This course goes through many techniques of how to draw the huan figure in ways that bring them to life! I learned quite a lot about drawing from my mind in interesting ways. Some of the 'homework' is quite boring, but it's exactly what you need to do to learn to draw like you've been drawing all your life! Awesome course!
