Those who have reviewed my courses have pointed out that the instruction is clear and easy to follow, as well as thorough and highly informative.

Many students had also taken other Java courses in the past, only to find that my courses were their favorite. They enjoyed the structure of the content and the high-quality audio/video.

This is the best tutorial I've seen so far , each step is well explained and the tutorial videos are made to a high standard. I highly recommend this course! - Rob

Hats off to you Chad, the best course I have done on Udemy thus far. You never disappoint. - Morebodi

By far the greatest asset this course has is how responsive Eric is to questions. This is how CBT training should be, and it was well worth the money and time. I was able to complete everything in the course and I now have an app! - Gabriel

OMG This course is amazing!!! So many awesome things to say. Apart from the course itself, I was also blown away at how quickly Eric responded to questions/issues and how promptly he was able to troubleshoot my code : ) - Paige

I initially enrolled in this course thinking it would simply be a refresher, but it turned out to be so much more. It provided valuable insights, reinforced core concepts. Every lesson felt meaningful, and I genuinely enjoyed the learning experience. One aspect I would especially like to appreciate was how each topic's conceptual explanation and coding implementation were presented as separate videos instead of being combined into one. That thoughtful structure made it much easier to first understand the concepts thoroughly and then focus entirely on applying them in code without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. This was exactly the kind of course I had been looking for, and it was absolutely worth every minute I spent on it. Highly recommended!

It was a great course which taught me a lot and structured my current knowledge. Love the explanation and BattleArena project! However there are some things to mention, which will improve the course in my opinion: -some of the videos don't have visuals- just black screen - in the Spring section Chad mentiones the DB part and then the next section is Thymeleaf-worth fixing - It would be much better if you could include in this course work with databases, parallel programming, generics etc so participants will be aware what may wait for them in the work Nonetheless- great course, really enjoyed it!

Have no experience in programming and have some limitations on my device per work restrictions so I've found useful first half of the course where could follow along and do some coding. Still need practice but got lot of things that didn't know. Second part was good, interesting and well explained. I couldn't follow along but got some things from watching. Maybe someday could get it again and check. But overall, I think is a good course for beginner to get starting with Java programming & knowledge. Thanks!

Course is very approachable for those getting back up to speed with Java or completely new to it. Instructor response times to questions are pretty damn impressive. I wish there was more time spent on Spring Boot, it's when the course gets into more real-world projects and not just printing to the console. There's references to "will be adding db capabilities in a moment" that doesn't happen, I'm guessing because this section on Spring Boot is a slice of their separate Spring Boot course. It needs a little better organization too; a couple of the chapters repeat themselves. All in all it covers all the basics of Java and SB enough to be a solid recommendation.

By Lee Medlin on 8/7/2025

Good instruction for the most part. The second teach tends to go a bit too fast when explaining OOP (Object Oriented Programming) but rather then that, pretty clear instruction.

By Kevin Bedard on 1/20/2025

I took this course as a Java refresher since it had been some time since I worked with it. I would have given 5 stars except for the Spring Boot sections. These sections were just breezed thru, and required SOOOO much background information just to understand what was going on - Maven, JSon, REST, Postman (optional), Jackson, Thymeleaf. I really think the course should have ended after the TDD section. But the Java information was very good and very helpful.

This Java course exceeded all my expectations and is undoubtedly one of the best modern and up-to-date courses on Udemy. The instructors transfer their knowledge in a natural and smooth way, maintaining an ideal pace that allows every student to grasp the concepts with ease. The course provides a step-by-step guide, explaining each topic clearly and including plenty of practical examples, making it easy to apply what I've learned in real-world scenarios. Covering everything from the fundamentals to advanced topics like Spring Boot, REST APIs, and MVC, this course is an excellent resource for anyone looking to learn programming with good practices. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to build a solid foundation in Java or advance their existing skills!

By Cromuel Barut on 10/27/2024

This course exceeded my expectations! As a beginner in Java, I found the explanations incredibly clear and easy to follow. Chad breaks down complex topics into simple, digestible lessons and guides you step by step through hands-on projects that really help solidify the concepts. I especially appreciate how modern and up-to-date everything is — from using IntelliJ to applying current Java practices. The downloadable resources and source code are super helpful, and the pacing is perfect for someone just starting out. Highly recommend this course to anyone who wants a solid foundation in Java. Big thanks to Chad for putting so much effort into making this an excellent learning experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Without a doubt, the best modern and updated Java course on Udemy. The instructors explain each programming concept clearly and precisely, and their teaching methodology ensures that you truly learn to program by applying best practices. The course is highly comprehensive, covering everything from the basics to advanced topics like Spring Boot, MVC and REST APIs, highly recommended.

By Reg Dwyer on 10/26/2024

Easy to follow and step by step guide for idiots. Good overview, A little difficult to follow in the latter sections when I am not familiar with the interface and then trying to follow the very quick screen changes. I made a few mistakes and then had to learn the deBuf to follow the code and find my mistakes. I think that a little more emphasis on the requirement to clearly map out the functionality of the project would be a great help to dispell the thought that you can simply write this code 'off the top of your head'. But I do understand that this is an overview and that process is a study itself.
