Course Description
So have you ever wanted to learn the basics of Krita 5 then this is the course for you. If you've ever tried to learn Krita in the past and experienced a lot of brush lag or maybe even critter crashed on you then this is the course for you. I've designed this course to be a very step-by-step approach to learning this very complex piece of software. I know that you probably don't have a lot of time and you want to learn the things that you want to learn so that you can create your own comics animation and digital art.
Krita is a very robust digital art tool and it's free. Trying to hunt down a lot of different tutorials and trying to piece together your own learning can lead to a lot of frustration. For years students have been asking me to create this course, but I ran into some of the same problems that you ran into such as brush lag and crashing and just not understanding how critter was set up.
If you are tired of beating your head against the wall, then do not hesitate & up for this course. You're going to learn really cool things like how to do sequential art, how to make your own textures for 3D art, and how do you use all of the basic tools so that you can speed up your workflow.
You don't need to become an expert at Krita you just need enough to get started.

Aside from being an artist as long as I can remember I started offering a few tutorials on Youtube. Little did I know that by teaching people the fundamentals of art and anatomy i'd begin a new dimension to my career. Being a working freelance illustrator with a youtube channel is hard work, and I wouldn't change a thing. I steadily expanded my work from clients who needed branding to doing work on indie games and apps. i enjoy helping artists and non artist achieve that next level. The road to artistic expression and freedom is paved with hard work and dedication. There are setbacks and monsters to slay , but the rewards are great.

It is unorganized.

The course gives a good "get your toes wet" approach which is perfect for getting over that daunting feeling of having downloaded the program and having no clue what to do. A nice and relaxed tour of the basic features needed to get started. Not too indepth, but it is what it says on the tin; Krita 5 For Absolute Beginers

Course introduced the technicalities of Krita. Will probably redo the course after I have tried for myself.

This review is strictly my perspective as a first time Udemy/Rich Graysonn student. I taught high school and paid digital photography classes as well as college classes so my review is from a specific POV. Technically, I'd like to see Rich's cursor highlighted or otherwise emphasized so I can see where he's clicking/dragging. Some screen recording programs also allow "clicks" to be recorded so I can see if the mouse was clicked or it simply hovered over a point while Rich was engaged in his stream of consciousness style of teaching. Content wise, some sections felt like they belonged in Rich's Complete Beginner's Guide to Digital Art, not a Krita course. The section on the Perspective Tool could have been shortened considerably. It would also be useful to know when/why Perspective is needed/useful. That was true for all sections, I always like to start with a goal or, at least, an objective in mind. I use a similar "stream of consciousness" style but that requires preparation. I got the impression Rich often improvised on the fly. I don't mind learning while he's also learning but, sometimes, it was painful. His "nested" excursions (By the way... I forgot to mention... There's also this point...) would lose me and I'd forget what we were doing before the initial excursion. I'd like to have covered more tools, even for 60-90 seconds. For example, Bezier Curve. He said he never uses it but a simple demo and description of what it does would help me experiment. Bottom line, it was an interesting class but, in my opinion, not a beginning Krita class. I got what I wanted out of it because I knew what I was seeking. Now, I plan to go back over the salient points that address my needs.

Thanks for the excellent course! I learned a lot. I like that the videos aren't too long and the explanations are clear.

I am a complete newbie to digital art, and I took this course in preparation for Mr. Graysonn's "Complete Beginner's Guide to Digital Art" course, and I feel like I have a much better handle on how to use the software than I did previously! I had no idea Krita had this much functionality, and I look forward to seeing what I can do with it.

A bit of stumbling around.

Rich is very passionate about providing accurate and constructive information. For some time now I have been looking for a course to get me up to speed with Kirta and how some of the tools are used. This course is just that; simple, easy to understand, and gives you working knowledge of terminology and tools used by Kirta in comparison to other editing software. Thanks!!
