This is an 11-hour Python course for testers who have never coded. About three hours go to Python basics. After that it moves through JSON files, the requests library, OAuth, SQL database checks, a BDD framework, CSV files, SSH with Paramiko and some web scraping. Rahul Shetty teaches it, and the syllabus shows 79 lectures across 15 sections. Nothing is required going in. That spread is the pitch: one course that covers the odd jobs a backend SDET ends up doing.

Students like the clear explanations. Reviewers call the teaching practical and say it works for beginners and for people refreshing rusty Python. Of 3,157 ratings, 1,714 are five stars and 1,154 are four. The complaints are specific. Some want more API practice, such as logging in, grabbing a token and calling a second endpoint. One reviewer found the code samples messy. Another wanted pytest-bdd instead of behave. Two older reviews report slow or missing instructor replies, and one of them says the full framework download did not run.

At 11 hours it is a quick survey, not a deep one, and one reviewer asking for more topics says as much. It was updated in March 2026, so it is not stale. It suits a manual tester who wants to see what Python automation looks like from end to end. Anyone already writing Python will find the basics section slow. Treat it as a solid first step, then build a small project of your own on top of it.

It was a good match for me, covering all the basics. I liked the Python basics section at the start. Three parts which I would have liked better: 1. Use of Free/Easier to install/installation free softwares. Many time,my PC could not handle installing so many different softwares, I spent a lot of time in the setup and installation part. Would have simpler approach. 2.I do not want to sign up for paid softwares.Alternatives to the software platforms used would be much appreciated. For example, alternatives to Pycharm,behave also runs on the local pc from a normal editor, that shouldve been mentioned instead of just using the paid pycharm version. 3.A quick recap of the commands/page outline being used will help refresh the memory.

The instructor is knowledgeable and teaches the course well. If someone was just interested in learning basic python and BDD than they will get value out of the course. The instructor also taught well how we can write python program to interact with sql and with a linux server. Where i felt the instructor could have done a better job is in the web scrapping part of the lecture. The API show is an older API that does not work today (sure an anonymous person pointed out the fix in Q&A section) but it just shows that this course has not been updated for sometime. Also i am personally new to HTML / tags / classes and after watching the 1 hour demo on web scrapping, i still do not fully understand how to web scraping stuff.

The course is explained well overall. However, the complete code download for the whole API testing framework doesn't work when I tried running it, and the author takes a long time to reply to questions :(

I like the way he touch the different section where we can use python and achieve our goal. I would love to see Python with page object framework in Pytest because python only support cucumber framework with professional edition which is not open source. But overall nice course to recommend.
