It was like going over to my music genius enthusiastic friend's house, but he had too much coffee, was really excited about this new software that he found and was sharing it with me. He is showing me this new software really quickly, but there is a key press indicator showing you the keys that he is using. If you're a visual learner, it's nice to see what he is doing, learn some tips on how to use FL Studio, at a mad pace! He makes statements, like, "you want to do this", "you need to do this", "yeah, that sounds pretty cool" without explaining why. It's not a music theory class, it's a class to get you to start using FL studio, to play around with it, become creative, inspire you, give you some confidence that you can do it, it's simple, just try it. If you are an Audio learner, this course is a little fast, short and sweet, might have to watch it a few times in order to follow along with all the material presented in this lecture. If you wanted to learn how to make video game music, well there isn't much there for you, it might get you started using FL Studio, demonstrating how easy it is to make something for your games, but it's a short and sweet lecture, a little bit longer than an hour, so you can get right back into whatever it was that you were doing before you took a break to learn some more computer knowledge. I liked the course, it was full of energy, entertaining and inspiring, it will get you out of the instruction manual of FL Studio and onto the keyboard to start messing around with the software. Lessons 7 and 8 are exactly the same, there must of been an error in loading up the course, have fun...learn.. be inspired... and go create something for your video games, or demonstrate to your friends what a great music composer you are, but watch a few more videos on YouTube, after you've messed around with the software for a while, learn the amazing capabilities that it has.

its not like all the other courses Ive taken on Udemy. The other course intructors show you exactly what to type and explains the menus and sub menus and key presses with key strokes to enter. This guy just glossed over how to do a few things. and showed a bunch of what seemed to me to be power point slides. i felt very unsatisfied. but I will never select any class with him again. live and learn.

So, I didn’t expected for a deep dive review into FL Studio concepts. It wasn’t the course proposal, but a start point to begin to compose game music. It is very well done. So, course complies perfectly with its proposal. Congratulations for the very well tuned content - I definitively recommend this course

I enjoyed really learning this material however it was a little fast and i had a lot of trouble with piano notes because on the demo it doesn't show the whole key notes like A4 and a4# another thing is the side category were the pieces of instrument were it took me a while just to find sytrus and i was almost worry that i might not have had the selection. Other than that I really enjoyed the first learning experience!!

John Bura was really detailed in his explanations and delivered a well thought out music course. Although he did use tools that were outside of the FL Studio Fruity Edition, it still did not detract from my learning experience. If there is another course like this one that pertains to music from John, I would definitely take it. Much love John!

Isn't super great at explaining the intricacies of FL Studios, and tips and tricks on how to use it or get started and kind of goes too fast and at a professional pace. I know this isn't for beginners necessarily, I just find myself getting a little lost at times. But enjoying the course overall so far.

I very much liked the course. It's short but on point. Easy enough for everyone to get basics out of it and with some useful hints. Also shorter courses makes higher probability you will actually go through them to the end! On the other hand though, now I would like to get some more content including more in-depth features of FL Studio! Thanks!

This is a very quick and hands-on approach to the usage and application of DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) to the composition of electronic music. However, it assumes that the student taking this course already knows some form of music theory or have some form of compositional skills, as a DAW is just a tool and not necessarily the means to an end, i.e. composing video game music (which encompasses many genres and many types of sampled sounds, melodies and tonal impact). As the name implies, it's okay for getting those hands dirty with hands-on practices, but it would definitely help if there's also some visuals on chord progressions and related techniques to make musical composition more seamless (a lot of those techniques and theoretical aspects are verbally explained, and sort of blend onto the background - so most people would end up relying on these lessons to make "quick compositional recipes".) Overall, I did have a bit of fun making audible content using FL Studio, but more could be done in a long, long way ahead to reach higher competency levels.

I was able to remember everything because it is for absolute beginners. It has nothing to do with game music. Music fragments are made with one synthesizer (plugin), there is no info about proper mixing and mastering. I knew it is 1 hour course, but I though there will be some tips about composing for games. The course should be named " FL Studio course for absolute beginners - simple melody created with one plugin". The author made great job for those who have no idea about DAWs and composing, but in my opinion this is introduction to introduction.

I got up and running with the program in fairly short amount of time thanks to this course, my only personal issue is that I wish there was a little more variation in the music created between the lessons to get an idea of how it otherwise could sound like, Recommended for beginners who need to touch on it their first time!
