Learn to Paint With Impact (Udemy.com)

This course has a few things that I needed to learn. That would be notans and use of notans when starting a painting. Also the way how shadows are to be made and importance of it. I am now practicing mostly by turning a landscape reference photo into the notan study, and I feel a lot of progress already. The course is packed with valuable info, I will go over it again to pick up more important details that I have missed. Thank you Malcolm!

This is the most comprehensive course in beginner oil painting focusing on landscape I’ve come across. It takes you through all the basic elements to creating a painting such as value, composition, colour theory etc and puts it all together in a simple way that is easy to remember while you are painting. All aspects can be adjusted to portraits and still life too although this really focuses on landscapes. Thanks I really enjoyed it.

On the whole I did enjoy the course very much. There was alot of very good information. At times some of the demos appeared to be blurry. The course seemed like a collection of utube videos.

Malcom is nice talker easy to understand and a lot of helpful information like every minute and enjoy trying to use the methods i learned in the course thank you so much

I am learning from this course but i am unable to open the downloads. They are not the normal JPGs or PDFs and they won't open. How do i do this?

I have just fiished this course. The teaching was excellent and I learnt many new things. My only slight difficulty was downloading the PDFs which were in an unusual format for me. Perhaps my old computer is to blame, I don't know. In the end, I used my daughter's computer to download the documents and she then sent them to me. The tasks were excellent and I made great progress in my painting. I think I made real breakthroughs in understandiong colour and value thanks to the excellent assignments. I also improved my brushstrokes. I have purchased another course by Malcolm Dewey and am looking forward to starting. Thanks for the great teaching.

This is an excellent course! It covers the important aspects in an interesting and informative way. Breakthrough Workshop is a good name for it. It is for more than beginners. Thank you for a wealth of information.

This course is equivalent or better than a university course. It is packed full of easy to understand/learn instruction. Malcolm does an excellent job of explaining things.
