This is a good basic over-view of Linux commands. It's not interactive so you must take lots of notes as you can't practice anything. Instructor uses some commands that he doesn't actually "teach" which was a bit annoying. Will be moving on to a shell scripting course after this to learn the more sophisticated functionality not covered here.

this was a phenomenal intro course and easy to playground along side it. the last module was a lot of technical info with less detail that the prior modules so it was a little more effort to follow and grab the useful information/theory

Overall, the material covered was good, as most of it was all basics. But the course felt a bit rushed. As a beginner, I would have liked to see more hands on tutorials. But the instructor's delivery was clear and easy to understand.

It was a good choice. I've been asked to give a training, I was looking for a course to support me and this course fits very well: it covers the necessary topics, the instructor is very clear in his pronunciation which makes it easy for a non-native listener to follow the rhythm: I was able to even speed it up by 1.25x. I will recommend it.

How do you actually finish this course? It seems to be impossible to get from Lesson to Lesson. All of this annoying noisy Kung FU graphics comes up. Do you need to order another for-pay course to finish it this course? so, I find this deceptiv and unethical!

The tutorial could have also added an in-depth section of Linux installation. The assumption that everyone knows how set-up a Linux machine from scratch is not a good idea (in my opinion). Nonetheless, the course is fairly well made.

I am a full-time student studying software development. I like to start a class with a heads up on the topic to be studied. On my break in between quarters, I like to pre-study the subject I will be taking in the next quarter. After watching this course I will feel more confident walking into my first day of Linux class.

This is a very basic course to help familiarize someone with the basic commands available in most Linux distributions. I would have like some actual interactive lessons to reinforce the learning. However, the instructor was very thorough. He explained how and why he was doing things; along with visual examples of how the commands function.

Mr. Cannon's courses are efficiently detailed. This is the second course instructed by him that I have completed. Three courses if you count the times I go back and review the content he added since the first time I finished it. If you need to learn the Linux command line, Jason's courses are the way to go.

I have been teaching myself Ubuntu Linux for a few months and found this basic module a useful refresher. I already had discovered most of the material but some of the options and examples were very useful and added to my knowledge and understanding. Very useful - I will now investigate other modules and probably try some of them.
