As others have commented, the first two lessons (and quizes) flowed very naturally, with the instructor not missing a beat, adding test and verification scripts so you know that your configurations were solid, services running, etc. Liked "/snap/bin/certbot certonly --nginx" as example of thoroughness being taken. Also recommend reviewing tmux, Caddy, MySQL Load Balancing, etc. as they cover concepts you need to architecture your solution be it on containers or in cloud. Instructure is thorough, doesn't hide information you might needs and I appreciated mix across different Linux distributions.

Excellent short course to intro Jason's teaching style. Would have liked a couple of minutes of more intro into Vagrant and explaining where to put the backend server info in the Nginx file. All in all, great short course.

very good course but unfortunately you would run into many problems if you do not use a mac like the instructor, i gave up in the end, only managed to test my website via HTTP follwing the below & couldnt just do the HTTPS part but hope to complete the rest of the course: https://www.linode.com/docs/web-servers/apache/install-and-configure-apache-on-centos-7/

I grabbed this free course to see how well the instructor presented his material. As a Senior Linux Systems Administrator, I am very pleased, and will be purchasing some of his other courses very soon. I can always learn more than I know, and I trust this instructor to show me holes in my skill set.

A good teacher and of course these are nice freebies, but I does seem like it has little context. I'd do very basic tasks on a single server so that if someone just launched his ubuntu for the first time he can follow along. Also I'd explain a little about different server systems, why centOS and not ubuntu why nginx and not apache

Actually i got enrolled to that course just because it was free however, since i have realized that the instructor ways of teaching is nice and straight to the point, i had a look at his other courses and jumped into them... We just need a little bit more exercises over these courses to get really into the subjects which are explained by the instructor. Overall, nice and fun to follow...

The course is apt for a beginner to get the concepts of load balancing and MYSQL DB replication run time. This is an apt lecture to start with. However, the in-depth details to address the real time situations, issues and difficulties that one can come across in designing the Load balancing policies and HA DB would add more value. Nevertheless, that is not a complaint as the purpose of this course is to address the concepts at basic level to set the pitch for the students to be able to go to the next level of learning. Weldone!!

This is the first lecture I listened from Jason Cannon. He is on point, clear in his thought, with understandable English language. Explains each typed command even if it is not directly connected to the topic, which is great! Not only I've learned about SSL certificate installation, but I've also learned some useful *nix commands.

Great tutorial, very clear and informational. The problem is CentOS. Why does everything in Linux have to be so difficult?? I could not install anything because you need root privilege and there is no default password for root. After researching how to change root pw, I couldn't log in anymore. Very frustrating!
