Course Description

Welcome to Master Svelte Framework - The Complete Course

In this course you'll master Svelte and SvelteKit AND learn how to build a fully-functional website as you do! It's a major website build that you can populate with users and user posts, profiles, voting and more - and it's a brilliant way to practice as you learn!

As well as the main project, this 13 hour course is filled with dozens of mini-exercises that challenge you to use what you've just learnt and apply it. This is a hands-on coding course!

Why learn Svelte?

  • Write less code! Simplified and streamlined, Svelte is significantly quicker to script than React or Vue

  • Easy to learn! Svelte is all HTML, so for newer developers it's intuitive to use and easy to master

  • Growing in popularity! Each year Svelte gets more and more popular and is now used by the New York Times, Ikea, Apple Music and more.

  • Svelte is one of the most loved frameworks! In 2021 developers voted Svelte the 'most loved' framework (at 71.47%) and in 2022 Svelte love grew by almost 4% to 75.28% (Stackoverflow Developer Surveys 2021 and 2022)

Master Svelte Framework - The Complete Course is a hands-on deep dive in to Svelte and Svelte Kit. Starting with the basics of each, you'll quickly move on to the main project that the course is built around - a giant Book Lover website project!

Building this website put all your new skills to the test, and each new technique builds on what you just learnt! By the end of the course you'll be able to build a website from scratch that lets users:

  • Register with an email and log in to the site with a password

  • Add their own book information  to the site via a form

  • 'Like' and 'Unlike' a book they see on the site

  • Create a reactive profile page - with a 'My Books' page and a 'Favourite Books' page

  • Learn Firebase and SSR with SvelteKit

This course is aimed at beginners to Svelte andSvelteKit, and teaches students everything they need to dive in to Svelte Framework development. Students should have some basic Javascript knowledge.

By the end of the course you'll have the skills and knowledge you need to build a site that users can log in to, post content to and vote on their favourite content. It's a lot of functionality, a lot of fun, and a great project for your portfolio too!

This course is eligible for the Codestars Certificate Authority (CCA) certificate. Students can take the official exam via codestarscom, and those who pass the quiz will receive their CCA certificate. (more details in the course!)

Enjoy the course, and happy coding!

Learned a lot, the final project was a great way to practice most of Svelte's primary use cases. What I missed was some explanations of the logic behind the thing's we're doing. From time to time it seemed a bit unorganized. Overal, I can definitely recommend this course to learn the basics.

I'm at Lesson23. I'm not a current programming professional and at 75 don't learn like I used to. But, in the day I was a successful programmer. As a hobby I've taken it up again and have a specific application that I am intent on building. It has a requirement to gather geolocation information related to the app at time of use so this lesson was perfect. I have finished great Udemy courses in html, css and javascript so what was unfamiliar to me I know how to search and learn up. But, I would appreciate more introduction to Svelte specific code before launching into the lecture. Lesson 23 was a singularly poiniant example. A quick explanation of how the pieces were going to fit together and the readable - set - function code template was used --what was being set, how props/params were passed/referenced, what the $ operator meant and when to use. Then, as the code was developed I could have better understand the end goal and the steps to get there as the coding progressed. A visual would have great to indroduce the underlying architecture. I have now expectation to have html, css or javascript explained but do wish that the Svelte specific coding would be explained as if I didn't know anything about Svelte (which I didn't) as one would expect of a "beginner" course. All that being said, I'm learning a lot and appreciate the depth you have gone with the example mini-projects. It ultimately leaves me in full control of what I've learned so far and I'm anxious to put it to use when I finish.

Each step is explained individually making it great to understand each of Svelte's and SvelteKit's concepts. The speaker has a slow speech, most of the course can be watched at 1.25x or even 1.5x if you already have a basic knowledge of Svelte.

Really enjoyed all the videos in this course. Amazing explanation and very confident and precise examples to showcase concepts of svelte and sveltekit. Would recommend this course to people who are looking forward to learn svelte and sveltekit.

muy bueno, bastante actualizado con lo nuevo de +page y +layouts utiliza la documentación como base para las explicaciones. Curso agradable y con muchos ejemplos. Muy Recomendado

I would recommend this course to experienced JavaScript coders who want to get a good handle on creating a base SvelteKit app that can be adapted to a variety of needs. I'm almost finished, and it has gone very well. It's easy to follow, and the links to github code are almost always useful (some seem to be mislinked, however). While I'm sure that a post-course review of the Book Lover app code is necessary to deepen my understanding of the material, I do feel that parts of this course are more "just type in this code" than "this is what this code is doing". That said, I've learned a lot.

I think for someone who has previous experience in frontend development this course is fine. For a beginner this would be tricky. Concepts are somewhat explained but it can be hit and miss. However, a lot of material is covered in this course in a relatively short amount of time. The project being built is fairly practical and the instructor includes the source code for download however some of the links are attached to the wrong lessons. Video and audio quality is good even when playing back on x1.5 and faster.

By Ian Shnayder on 8/15/2023

So far so good. pace is excellent and progress is straight forward. I love the small challenges in the end of each video, just to make sure the topic in hand has settled. The explanations are great and easy to digest.

Fantastic Svelte and Sveltekit course! I needed a refresher and this course did the trick and I learned a few new tricks along the way.

An amazing course. I just finished the Svelte section and have learned a lot. The exercises are a great way to keep practicing. I will update my review once I finish the whole course, so far 5 stars.
