Mastering Ollama: Build Private Local LLM Apps with Python (Udemy.com)

A good course to get an overview what Ollama can do, to see what is needed in terms of skillset and to see whether it is possible for in terms of skills already required and skills to be required. The course is also helpful in demystifying "AI" / Ollama and to convince that you can learn (almost) everything as long as you are prepared to take the necessary steps.

This was a good overview and the examples really helped and that you could follow along. Went a little fast going over the code for the examples so hard to keep up at times but overall this was good

Great introductory course. If you are trying to understand the fundamentals of the LLM, what it does, and how it works, this is the course for you. The explanations were easy to understand, especially with the diagrams on the slides. Thank you.

I can highly recommend the course to any AI "newbie". The topic is very well explained and the figures which are provided during the course give a good theoretical understanding. The python example is straight forward and the comments in the code makes it easier to recapture the code. All in all a very good starting point. Thanks Paulo

The course is very interesting and offers valuable insights into building applications with local LLM models. However, installing the necessary modules and managing dependencies is considerably more complex, especially on Windows-based machines. These setup challenges shouldn’t be overlooked but rather addressed explicitly during the course

I was very happy with this course. The tutor has clearly explained the concepts which is easily understandable irrespective of the level of knowledge the student already has. I highly recommend this course for people who wish to have a initial understanding on LLMs.

I need to brush up my python skills before I get deeper into the course but it's all pretty straight forward. I have experience running ollama in the bash on linux and powershell on windows. This course showed me many more things I can do with Ollama.

This course is a great resource for getting started with and understanding some of the basics for utilizing Ollama as tool for using Large Language Models to build out customized applications. The course is easy to follow and has great examples, including some of the python libraries needed. One caveat I would say though, is that for the Vector DB (ChromaDB), if you are working on a Windows machine (I haven't tried on my Macbook yet), you will need to install Microsoft C++ Build Tools for ChromaDB to work. Plus, I prefer to use Open Web UI as the GUI, versus the one suggested in the course. Other than that, this course has given me the basics and foundations to expand some of my ideas into fruition. Definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed the course. The teacher has a dynamic class that helps you learn to pay attention. He is also very detailed, but at the same time he managed to be simple and objective. The course covers several points. I recommend it to future students. Don't forget to give the project a star on GitHub. The work that I did in this course brought me a lot of knowledge and good things should be shared.
