The Comprehensive Android App Development Masterclass (Udemy.com)

This class does offer good information on Android and can easily help you get started making your own apps. The issue is the lack of updates and support from the instructor. A lot of methods and classes used in this course are deprecated which can become a source of issues when working through the code. I noticed that many questions regarding these issues go unanswered. These problems are so great, they makes a few sections of the course difficult if not impossible to complete. This caused me a lot of frustration while working through this course. In addition, there are instances of disruptive cuts throughout the course. In some cases, the instructor even cuts out necessary information which can leave students feeling confused. Overall, this class does offer good information; it is just outdated, unattended to, and at times, sloppy. If the instructor is interested in improving this course, I would recommend completely redoing the sections related to Locations, Maps, and Machine Learning. I would also recommend responding to students when they have questions and perhaps updating the course with new videos when larger issues become apparent.

It was an awesome experience learning from Paulo sir. The way he teaches and his sense of humor are great. His excitement while making new apps brings a smile on my face. Thank you sir ! (some tips for the newbee like me)- If you are new to android development go for this masterclass, you won't be able to keep up at some time and may feel like giving up. But keep learning and make the basics clear to be a good android development learner. BEST COURSE for the learners who want to begin android dev. You won't regret it!

I have completed more than half of the course. So, based on my experience, I can recommend this course to any person who has background on java. But, if you have no knowledge on java, you are gonna have difficult time to understand some stuff related to it. I suggest everyone that wanna take this course to take time to learn java (like 3 - 4 month) before jumping to Android studio. Besides that, there are some topics that he does not explain well. As a result, you need to look some article/youtube video to grasp the concept. Despite all of these, I think it is the best course that you will find about Android development (in java) in udemy. For now, I will give it 3.5. Approaching to end of the course, I will update my review.

I spent a lot of time looking for the perfect course to quickly ramp up on Android development, and this course was absolutely awesome. Paulo exposed us to the most recent and important concepts in Android development and kept encouraging us to push our understanding of a concept by building even more projects by ourselves. I waited to complete the full course before leaving this review, and this has honestly been the best investment of my time and money. What's good: -Probably the most updated and well-rounded Android course on Udemy. -Great TA that helps to answer questions -A BUNCH of super relevant and original projects -Course is super engaging and Paulo has an awesome teaching style What can be improved: -I would definitely add MVVM as a topic of the class. Paulo briefly mentioned it when covering the ROOM database, but it would be great to use it for projects. -Update the face detection project (which is the only outdated project out of a bunch of other so not a big deal)

5 stars for the course. From being a newbie on Android, this course got me going. All the sections and topics are so well explained. One may find two sections to be difficult to grasp, one is ROOM database and another one is the Firebase ML Kit. These are just introductory sections to those topics and we will just get to know how they work, we may not be able to develop anything just from that knowledge. One thing I would like to talk about the tutor Paulo. He is one of a gem. Understands the student's perspective and teaches the content according to it. His soothing voice gives a lot of confidence. One last thing, this course will give you enough knowledge with which you can help yourself when developing an app. For instance I tried developing an app where I needed nested recyclerviews, one vertical and another horizontal, although its not part of this course, I was able to search it on the net, understand it and use it. You may realize that when you start developing an app, you may want to do it in a different way than taught in this course and is not part of this course and yet you are able to do it. The course is very long, it took me 6.5 months to complete.

The Course is just great. Perfect for a beginner looking to start developing Android apps. Some of the concepts taught are really great like Firebase, ML Kit which makes this course very special to consider. The concepts are explained in a very nice and polite way. Paulo is a great teacher who explains concepts in a very interesting way. Just a suggestion that it would be great if you explain some functions/methods in the code which are a bit difficult to understand alone. Overall the course is very much informative. This was a very knowledgable course on the whole. I came as a newbie who just knew that there is something called toast in android and now I am returning with a lot of beautiful knowledge about building android applications. I am gIad that i got to learn a new skill from such a good instructor who taught all the concepts very patiently and tried to reply to all my queries timely. Paulo is a great teacher, the way he teaches the concepts, the steadiness he has in his voice while teaching a concept is remarkable. It's like he has come to sit with you, teach you something and he is in no hurry and won't get up until he tries more than his best to make you understand and leave only when you have understood the concept and has become comfortable in it. For sure, there is immense beauty in the way he teaches. On the whole, this course is very good for newbies, you will get to learn a lot of concepts about android app development. Mr. Paulo, the instructor of this course has delivered this course with utmost professionalism. He posses wider and in-depth knowledge of the subject and all the required tools for Android App Developments. He has a wonderful explanation skills. He literally types-in every line of code and explains the programming principles, rules, logic, etc. so that the students can learn the basics and build strong fundamentals. You truly are an amazing Teacher. As a first time App Developer i have gone through numerous Tutors but i kept on making mistakes and felt like i wasn't learning anything. I have just finished this course. I had a modest experience in java but no idea about android development. My review is mainly about the android (framework) part: Highs: + the course covers all needed aspects to develop an app (frontend, backend and databases) + the instructor so engaging and has a very easy and simple way of explaining the concept and delivering the needed idea + the instructor has a soft clear voice tone and accent and always pushes students to finish their tasks + the instructor always replies to students, answers their questions and updates the course material when needed Lows: - sometimes ( only some really really few times) the instruct does not explain the technical reasons behind the arguments passed to method or to a class constructor which could help understanding the code better (maybe this is a personal view since I'm a CS student ). All in all, the course is super excellent and is worth the money. I have taken a number of online courses and I know how to compare courses and their outcomes and from there I can say after finishing this course, you would be able to build medium size apps (with database connectivity), you are gunna be able to read and fully understand the android docs and apply them to serve your purposes and you will, as well, develop your beginner skill set to an intermediate (to advanced) one
