This is an EXCELLENT course for people wanting to understand how Maya works compared to other 3D Modeling softwares. I have some 3D Modeling experience but Maya was a good bit different than Blender. Instructor explains everything very clearly. This is worth the money.
I will say for an absolute beginner in 3D Modeling I think this may be slightly overly complicated.

There is too many extra information not related to the basic model that the class means to creat. That would confuse beginner and wast the time. e.g. 3.Maya basics - why the instructor talking about the character and rigs, but not modelling surface.

Really great course to learn the basics of Maya : not too much tools, but enough to begin modeling with satisfaction. Instructions are clear, and the project is simple but satisfying. Great teacher, the pace is perfect.

Very easy to follow, great way to quickly get up to speed on the basics of modeling in Maya and feel good about it. This course got me very excited to do more.
PS - don't be afraid to add your own objects and challenge yourself, for instance I added a track pad to the laptop and book-stops to the shelf :)

Not a lot of information for the price.

Really great introduction to Maya! This course gave me a solid foundation in the basics allowing me confidence to explore more complex aspects on my own. Which was exactly what I was hoping for.
If I could suggest one thing it would be pausing at the beginning of each section to try modeling the elements on your own before seeing the instructor's solution. I think it'd be extra great to have a few challenges like this aimed at getting the student to extrapolate from previous information.

I knew how to use Maya but very soon I will return to campus as a tutor to share with students how to use this tool, while I completely forgot how I learnt it step by step...Then I found this course. Actually I am not aiming at warming up my Maya skills, what I want to learn is the way how this teacher explained a complicated tool/system little by little in an easy way, without scaring his audience. Thanks a lot for providing such a nice course, I like the way you explain difficult stuff. Looking forward to your advanced tutorials on specific 3d graphics topics for proficient Maya users as well. :)
