Course Description

Congratulations! You've found the most popular, most complete, and most up-to-date resource online for learning how to use microfrontends!

Thousands of other engineers have learned microfrontends, and you can too. This course uses a time-tested, battle-proven method to make sure you understand exactly how microfrontends work, and will get you a new job working as a software engineer or help you build that app you've always been dreaming about.

The difference between this course and all the others: you will understand the design patterns used by top companies to build massively popular web apps.

Microfrontends are used to divide a large app into a series of smaller apps. This provides a set of unique benefits to any frontend:

  1. Author smaller, easier to understand codebases

  2. Use a different set of libraries for each sub-app - bring the best tool for the job!

  3. Deploy each portion separately - limit the chance of interrupting your users

  4. Allow each of your engineering teams to work independently

This new architecture is popular, but there is a lot of misinformation online. This course has been developed with input from top engineers to ensure total technical accuracy. Additionally, you'll learn how to evaluate whether microservices are a good choice for your application.

----------------------

What will you build?

This course features hundreds of videos with dozens of custom diagrams to help you understand how microfrontends work. No prior experience is necessary. Through tireless, patient explanations and many interesting practical examples, you'll learn the fundamentals of building dynamic and live web apps using microfrontends.

Each topic included in this course is added incrementally, to make sure that you have a solid foundation of knowledge. You'll find plenty of discussion added in to help you understand exactly when and where to use each aspect of microfrontends.

Below is a partial list of the topics you'll find in this course:

  • Learn design patterns used by the largest companies in the world

  • Understand when to use microfrontends

  • Link multiple apps together using a tiered routing system

  • Scope CSS on your page to prevent cross-app contamination

  • Avoid sharing state between apps to promote isolation

  • Deploy each portion of your app independently to avoid production bugs

  • Scaffold a CI/CD pipeline to automate your release process

  • Utilize multiple front-end frameworks in the same app

  • Maximize performance by using module federation

I built this course to save you hundreds of hours of self study. I've put years of my own experience into this course to save you time. Sign up today and join me in mastering microfrontends.

It covers the basic concepts well; however, it would be even more valuable if it included a real-world application example with backend API integration. Demonstrating how backend services, API communication, authentication, error handling, and shared data management are handled in a Micro Frontend (MFE) architecture would provide more practical insights and better reflect real-world implementation challenges. Additionally, the deployment aspect could be improved by covering platforms like Netlify for hosting and deployment. Netlify offers a free and developer-friendly option for learning and experimenting, whereas AWS Free Tier has limited-duration benefits and typically requires a credit card for setup. Including a deployment walkthrough using Netlify would make the content more accessible and easier for learners to follow and implement on their own.

Very well explained course, I really found the setup for aws and github very useful. Thank you for putting the time to get that setup, it was a lot of different concepts/configurations... I always found reading about cloudfront, route53, dry.. but putting it in the context to get something to work helps you stay focused..

This video tutorial series offers an excellent understanding of micro frontends, detailing exactly how they work under the hood. I would definitely give it 5 stars. Stephen Grider is a fantastic tech tutor, delivering thorough explanations of each aspect of micro frontends. I really appreciate Stephen Grider for creating this comprehensive micro frontend video tutorial series.

I am serious, Stephen is the best instructor on the Udemy, this is the very 1st course I have ever completed, that explains all! This MFE course is very well designed, I am a frontend developer with 5 yrs experience, not a beginner, I still feel l learnt lots of knowledge about how to build a micro front end application and there was soooo much fun along the way! I recommend this course to anyone who is interested in learning more about mfe, I promise you will not regret

Great course, step-by-step building up an MFE application and many of the important subjects to consider. Every piece of code explained with in-depth background on subjects like routing. The existing Q&A comments helped me to debug the occassional issue (which generally were due to my mistakes). The files and additional instructions provided meant zero time trying to work out which versions of packages to use. Definitely would recommend.

To be honest, this course is the best to learn about micro-frontend. Stephen explained everything clearly, still, Stephen might have included the some contents about loading remote files at run time without using ModuleFederationPlugin. I felt this is one of the important concept should have covered as part of micro front-end and little content of webpack upgrade

By Siddharth Jain on 5/27/2021

Amazing course by Stephen though he needs to address existing 3 issue(s) while making this whole application. Kindly address them. Overall, the course is pretty well shaped and he tries to save your time as I can see he has provided 24 hours and more time consuming stuff in 9 hours course. A must course, I feel I'm at different level post completion of this course. Well crafted and delivery is amazing. Thanks for such an fantabulous course. - Thanks Siddharth Jain

If you wish to gain a huge jumpstart on learning Webpack 5 federation and building microfrontend apps, this course represents the current bible for best practices for achieving true segregated team development of federated apps. The final app is an amazingly clear representation of the possibilities associated with Webpack 5 federation and microfrontends.

Another amazing course from Stephen Grider. I buy his courses without hesitation knowing I will get more than my moneys worth, learning a ton and having fun along the way. Pro tip #1: Never skip his optional videos. They are PACKED with the type of content you really want: deep dives into complex topics, breaking them down into child's play so when you run into it in the real world it's basically a non-issue. Pro tip #2: Buy every course he has, do them all twice.
