Clearly shows Laurence is expert in JavaScript. This course gives plenty opportunity to learn JavaScript applications especially in game side. I have been only through 60% of the course and find that this course provides ample practice to learn javascript. It is not a put down but just that the course seriously needs modernization. It is still living prior to es6. One of the annoying thing is the use of old style concatination "+", "" + "" type. Please use template string (template literal) to modernize it and go on higher order functions such as map, reduce, filter, forEach. I noticed a few uses of forEach. Which is good but a modernization of the course would make this course invaluable for future learners and an excellent course. Thanks for producing the course.

Fantastic practical course on JavaScript. The instructor, Laurence Svekis, explains every single thing he does and why he does it, even if he explained it before. I found this to be very helpful, because the repetition a) enhances absorption and memorization of the material, and b) it allows you to do the projects in any order you like. Each section/project is well-organized and divided into short, easy-to-digest lessons. I liked the fact that the screen is split between the IDE and the browser window, I wish more teachers did that in their courses. I've also enjoyed the instructor's positive energy and enthusiasm: even if you're studying while being somewhat tired, he won't let you fall asleep :) If you've got a question, the instructor responds very quickly, which, considering how many courses he has on Udemy, is very impressive. In short, highly recommended!

although laurence really knows his stuff and you will learn a ton, his teaching style and execution is poor.

The course is like a beginners' mini guide we can use for any project any time we need basic help. It helps understanding logic, and has short videos about standard JS functionalities that can be used as sort of audio book with examples when needed. As my second JS course, after in-depth learning, it is a perfect fit for my current needs, which is practice, practice and more practice. Thanks, great stuff!

This tutorial is the best tutorial I have ever seen so far. It includes everything: PDF documentation, code snippets and challenges. The best thing about this tutorial is teachers own concept of teaching. First he explains what will we learn here and how does that work, second he shows code snippet (which means if you can understand this section you can do it on your own), third he does the coding following with the explanation in detail for every functionality (step by step). Also amount of projects for practice is insane! I would definitely recommend this course to everyone who is interested in JavaScript learning!

Good for practicing Vanilla JavaScript. Nice short exercises. Perfect for improving skills for beginners/intermediate. 44 hours. Can't go wrong for 14 dollars. Edit*.....It is the best JavaScript course on UDEMY in its own context as there is no other course like this one. No other course offers this much practice. Other courses are good too. But this is unique.

i there were 6 stars i would give it. With vast amout of exercises this course is great for JS newbies to develop a muscle memory on repetitive actions such as functions, arrays, random numbers, eventListeners, styling etc etc etc. recomment id for anyone who wants to develop those coding muscle memory.

I've completed quite a few popular JS courses on Udemy but I have to say that this course is the most practical amongst all of them. Finally I can get my hands dirty with a ton of miniprojects explained very clearly by Laurence. The problem with massive, complex projects is that as a beginner you will get overwehlmed eventually. Here you really get to understand the fundamentals especially when is comes to manipulating the DOM. Now the appearance of the projects is not that pretty but the soul purpose of this course is NOT to teach you CSS but to learn Javascript. It is actually a great practice to customize them yourself. I would recommend getting familiar with HTML, CSS before jumping into this course. Absolute 5 stars.

I wouldn't say this course is for beginners, but if you are a beginner, you should bite the belt and do this course. There is a lot of muscle memory to writing code, I guess. And here you will see JavaScript used in sooooo many different ways. You will build a very practical foundation in the language, here. He moves really fast, he's not a philosopher, he doesn't drone on and on about theory. But that's okay, just slow his voice down to 75% and follow along and if you don't understand something, that's okay... Just KEEP GOING! You will move out of beginner territory fast here...

As a beginner to java and coding scripts. I found the course to be one of the "holy grail" in my collection of hwo to ...javacode. section 1-4 - covers everything from the basic to more advanced stuff (I'm sure there is a lot more out there) . The lessons are just long enough and gives you enough input to dive into your own testing and coding, as 99% of each lessons end with a "challenge" to replicate or do better , makes the learning curve shorter (at least for me, kinda like to code to learn and figure out what the heck going ), before going to next topic. section 5 to 50+ - takes on a project, task . that can be easily combined with other project. when i bought the course it was 50 now well it's at 55 - seems to be constantly evolving and new stuff added all the time, big +++ in my book at the end of every course one get to rate the course, teacher etc.. so here is mine: I've been following Laurence for a while know - for me his teaching style - fits me perfect. videos are not to long and always on topic, there is never any errors in his recordings (if they are they get sorted out fast), and in most cases one get a challenge back to test the topic you just learned. If you like me - Learning by coding then this course "perfect for you". taking you up from novice level to advanced in a wery short time. short videos
