Course Description
You can avoid vendor lock-in with your cloud services by using Redis. Redis has become much more than just a distributed cache; its new Redis Modules architecture runs on any cloud provider and enables true multi-cloud and hybrid cloud deployments. Using Redis, you can distribute systems across many cloud providers, making you immune to outages in any one of them. Redis Modules, Redis Cloud, and Redis Enterprise are important new technologies to know about when designing your cloud computing architecture.
This compact course wastes no time! You'll learn by doing, using Redis Stack with a real e-commerce data set to:
Stream data in real time using Redis Streams
Store structured, persistent data into a distributed NoSQL document store with RedisJSON
Index and query structured data with RediSearch
Analyze time series data with RedisTimeSeries and Redis Insight
Create a real-time topseller leaderboard with RedisBloom
We will use a free Redis Cloud account and scripts written in Python to illustrate the use of each system. We'll walk you through setting it all up.
Redis makes it possible to build a complete technology stack that does not rely on a specific cloud computing vendor. Your colleagues probably still think Redis is just a caching technology; you can be the first to tell them about this new alternative for storing and processing data at massive scale. This concise yet complete training will get you up an running with Redis in the cloud, or on your own cluster.

Would like to see following on top of the current content: 1. What are the real life applications of various redis components 2. In what scenarios redis should be used instead of alternatives like kafka, sql etc. 3. In what scenarios traditional components should be used instead of redis

This course definitely provides a good introduction to Redis and its interaction with Python libraries. However, it would be nice to provide links to the Redis OM and standard Redis python modules used throughout the course. It definitely took some time to find the corresponding function calls from those modules and to understand how they work.

It teaches so many different modules and features of redis in such a sort time! There are also many pop up food for tought to urge the listeners to explore different possibilities using the teachings and discover beyond! Totally recommend it.

Short and sweet. Crash course on modern Redis capabilities. Not a "detailed", "coverall" course, one should be able to guess that by 2hr or so course videos. For a detailed course find another with 20+ hours.

This is an insightful tutorial. Just the first few topics and I am hooked already. This really deals with the things that matter in today's Solution Development. Cache, Streaming, Data and tools for Analytics all in one place. Wao! That's a dream come true as I see a lot of cost savings on infrastructure, without impeding performance. Frank is one of the world's most knowledgable instructors on Data Sciences and knowledge transfer I have seen, so this is a Win Win for whoever takes this course. -- Osahon Elaiho

This course was short, right to the point. The was no long boring explanations for someone who wants to know how each Redis service works and get basic knowledge of them. This course is not for someone who want to become Redis specialist. If that’s your goal, this course is not for you.

First part of course went well. However in the current part where I am, the provided code did not give any result. I was trying on a Debian VM, so I tried also on an Ubuntu VM, to be sio with the teacher. But the result was exactly the same. And I don't see where I can join the teach to explain him the issue. This is not good for a teaching platform.

simple and straight forward course! all examples are working, it was very easy to go along with Frank with hands on for all examples. Course gives good scope to start from in the journey of getting know the Redis Stack more. Thanks Frank!

I happen to take this course on Redis because it is "Frank Kane from Sundog Education," and next, it's my curiosity about the Redis stack. It's a comprehensive and powerful suite of features stacked to create an ecosystem of lightweight, high-power functionalities. It emphasizes how "vendor lock-in" can be relaxed why we don't have to bring lots of technologies and tools together for a different purposes. Redis stack takes care of that with support across popular programming languages. Boilerplate code templates are provided for the various use cases, which can be easily extended and scaled for custom implementation. Thanks, guys, great course!

Frank, thank you very much for this quick and informative course! It offers a very good introduction into what Redis can do. For a two hours course, it contains a lot of information about the technology and hands-on examples using a real world dataset. I really enjoyed how everything just worked: there were no issues running the supplied scripts or configuring Redis Cloud. Also, there were no costs involved, because of the credit code and the Redis Cloud free tier. I think what could be improved, is providing some comments in the python files on the more complicated lines, so you know what has been done there when you look at it later. Also, hosting the project on GitHub or some other Git provider would be a huge bonus, so you can retrieve the files easier than downloading a ZIP file and unpacking it. In this case, you could also provide some documentation and update it in case something changes in the future. Maybe you could also link the corresponding Redis documentation to each topic, so you can read more into it after watching the video. Overall, it was a great course and I will recommend it to my colleagues. I was really surprised, how versatile Redis is and how much (and quick) you can do with it. After this course, I am excited to dive deeper into Redis and use it in projects! Thank you!
