Instructor talks about writing chords without being at the piano. Huh? Instructor talks about a grid. He provides no example. I was expecting some materials for practicing this lesson. Where do I find dummy film to try this? It's not quite clear how the timing is changed. I guess it's something you have to try.

Love this, as a Classical Composer I am learning how to compose for film on a technical level I was not trained to do so. I am learning how to use Logic efficiently for composing and mixing purpose. All I can ask for is taught right here. And most helpful, I would add!

First a disclaimer--I do not own Logic :). However I wanted to look at this course because of some of the concepts I thought would benefit me, no matter the DAW. I found the most irrating aspect was the sound from Section 2 to section 4--I could hear the speaker loud and clear, but trying to hear the instruments was frustrating. I really enjoyed writing from a brief-Section 4- that helped open my mind in how to actually see a short clip and try to create music from it--I just wished I could use that for a test case (MP$) of my own---but I do understand rights. Section 5 thru 6 was good--once again, I do not own Logic, but I could look to see if my DAW Reaper and Mixcraft) would have any of the great function Logic has--that helped to understand my DAW. Now--Section 7---at first I was going to do a eye roll on 'history' but the more you talked, the more intrigued I became and heaven knows the information you gave was very, very informative---like looking at me and saying--if you want this career, then these are the things you will have to look for, do and know the difference. Thank you for that! Conceptualizing was the best! Made my brain start thinking as you were talking and I have a renewed reinvigorating idea of music. Thank you

This course was just the right level of introduction for me. I like that the composition instructor uses stock instruments in Logic Pro so that I can try to reconstruct what he is explaining and get similar results, then the mixing instructor demonstrates getting and using more advanced samples to take the sound up a notch. Having two instructors to cover the different roles of composing and mixing was also helpful to me to get a more complete view of the process of scoring for film.

Unfortunately, it's too basic for me

Very informative course! Well explained, easy to follow and very helpful tips. Also didactically well structured. I definitely learned some new things. Thanks a lot! You both have also a very pleasant way to speak.

Tomas and Jonathan obviously know what they are doing. This is the deal of the century considering how much knowledge they are sharing. I particularly like that they both know how to speak. Focused, to the point none of the dreaded 'umms" or "like" which is at epidemic levels in the world. Great stuff, highly recommended.

I am really enjoying this course. It is easy to learn and I am learning a lot. I was a bit confused at the flow of the course material but then I realized that it is not necessarily meant to be watched in order. I am not sure if that is notated somewhere in the course description but perhaps it should be. Great stuff regardless!

Being a fresh student in music composition, this is important to first understand the project rather begin to composing the music. The lessons till now have helped me in understanding that. Thanks for providing such info. Now moving ahead with more positive thinking to learn the music composition in details.

I was very impressed with the information and insights the instructors have shared in the videos. The analysis of the intervals, chords and instruments used to create a particular mood, and the technical aspects of timing cues and tempos is very helpful! Many thanks!
