Course Description
NestJS is an incredible backend framework that allows us to build scaleable Node.js backends with very little complexity. A microservice architecture is a popular architecture that allows us to build & deploy several independent applications that communicate with each other via a chosen transport layer.
This course is designed to bridge the gap between NestJS & this microservice architecture. It goes beyond the NestJS documentation to show you how to build a real reservation booking system that accepts payments, sends email notifications, and persists data to a MongoDB, Postgres & MySQL database.
Here are just some of the few additional things you can expect to learn in this course:
Develop a productionized Dockerfile for NestJS microservices
Create a monorepo & shared library for common code
Learn how to create a custom package.json & Dockerfile for each microservice
Automate the build & deployment of Dockerfiles with a custom CI/CD process
Connect microservices together using a TCP transport layer
This course also includes full access to the GitHub repository so you have access to the completed project at all times & can reference this completed code. Additionally, you can post any issues or questions to the QA section & I will be happy to assist you.
By the end of this course, you will know how to build, deploy & test Nestjs Microservices so you can create any scaleable application that you can think of.

It's like playing chess with a Grand Master that tells you exactly what to do but doesn't explain what's going on and before you get to process the information, he has changed code in 3 other files. He doesn't let time for you to copy a finalized code and switches the file immediately after he finishes writing it. That's so annoying. This is an advanced course, and brings a ton of value for the ones who has experience on NestJS. I am following the course, but it's the first time that I ever see the videos on x1 speed - and still don't get half of this course.

I only gave 4 stars because the course is very advanced. i come from a frontend background, but backend is not far from me. if you are new to the field it is better to learn the environment on a non microservice basis. but it was very useful, if you have done a few nestjs courses and know the environments mentioned, like prisma, graphql, gRPC, or typeorm it is worth going through. it's a bit verbose, a bit too much for non-native english speakers. but it's also very detailed, i got through the almost 10 hours in about 2 weeks, but for a more experienced developer it's a piece of cake, but for a beginner it's a big cake, but worth going through.

Its a course where u only will get here for learn, how to properly structure an NestJs project for a large development. This is a good course to learn to put this specific framework to work in a good way. Highlights: - MicroServices structure - Common Library with Nestjs - Dockerize the whole project with all the services - Dockerize for production with Kubernetes - Abstract Repo & Abstract Schemas (Models) with mongo and TypeOrm - Good examples with Http and TCP, gRPC, GraphQl,Redis and RabbitMq

Its by far one of the best courses I have taken in both my career and Udemy! The quality of the course AND the instructor's activeness in responding to students comments and questions...is unparalleled! I have to say that this course is an ADVANCED level course and that reflects on the quality of Q/A section's questions and comments, as well as the pace of the instructor. I found the speed of how the instructor goes about doing things is above average and I had to stop the play very often, and more often play it at 0.75 speed. I couldn't complain about it because otherwise he would need much longer videos to pack this amount of information into. I am still at section 5 (Notifications) but I just can't wait to go through the remaining sections of this GEM. I will definitely keep updating this review the more I finish .

This course is simply gold in Udemy. As you progress through your career, you find it very hard to get access to this type of knowledge that shows how to set up a full-scale microservice architecture project and all the details and different approaches that you might need one day. I searched for more courses from the instructor, but he only has this one on Udemy. Thanks a lot Micheal. I have more than 40 Udemy courses, but I can easily say that this has been one of the best.

I am full of admiration for the knowledge and professionalism of the instructor. The course is great, but I have a few comments from the perspective of someone who is learning something new. First of all, often during the discussion of the topic, a refactor is conducted, and the instructor frequently changes the location of files. This causes the learner to lose the context of what they are supposed to learn. Another comment - the instructor often explains imprecisely where he is moving these files and where he is creating a particular file. This requires frequently rewinding the video and checking exactly where the instructor is creating a specific file. It's quite irritating. My suggestion - if we know that a code refactor from the previous lesson will be needed in a certain part, perhaps it's better to perform it before discussing the new topic? And explain precisely where and to where files are being moved. Other than that, the course is really okay, I have learned a lot about microservices. Thank you.

What a great course on Nestjs and microservices i have learned a lot from this course 1. a new way of writing and organizing code for big applications 2. how to work with the @nestjs/microservices package 3. how to work with microservices in nestjs in general 4. the GRPC and the GraphQL API Gateway is amazing sections you will never find as much as a good explanation for them on the internet in general, it is a very recommended course that you will deferentially get a lot from it regardless of your level of experience in NestJS

Michael Guay is one of the best, detail-oriented, and very concise teachers, both on YouTube and Udemy. All his courses I have taken have always been detailed. Not only that, but they are also very simple and concise. Usually, you will find teachers on Udemy getting drowned in the nitty-gritty of subject matters, but not Guay. Always detailed but also very concise and straight to the point. You have really helped me in my backend journey. Thank you sir.

I thought I knew Nest.js well before starting this course. It seems I was wrong. After finishing the course, now I can confidently say I know Nest.js. Don't even think for a second, just enroll in it. When I first started the course, I felt lost and couldn't understand anything, but I didn't give up. I kept watching and followed the steps one by one, starting from scratch multiple times. Thanks to this course, I learned how to Dockerize, create a microservices architecture, and important Nest.js methods. Thank you for everything.

This is, without a doubt, the most comprehensive and robust masterclass I have ever seen. Perhaps the instructor could improve the video editing a bit, as the cuts in the videos are sometimes too abrupt. However, that does not mean the content is not excellent. I had already given it 5 stars, and I reiterate them now. Excellent material, excellent explanations, a masterpiece here on Udemy. Thank you very much, Michael, for the effort you put into each class. I hope you create more courses like this; I will definitely be among your students.
