First of all, course doesn't cover Fargate at all. Just briefly mentioned at the beginning of the course. It frustrates me. I've paid for ECS & Fargate course. Well, cloudformation using is very nice idea for production, but not for learning. I'd like to see both. First, detailed explanation via AWS UI then briefly via CF. Also course uses resource from different sections. It hard to follow, especially if you want to recall material. You need to jump through the whole course. Course lacks of explanation: why do we need this or that, what alternatives, what is the reason of that approach. Just as an overview of multiple ideas the course is good, but you cannot transfer this knowledge and bring it into REAL world project (unfortunately)

The instructions and codebase could be improved a bit and could have provided cloudformation templates for the manual stuff shown in the videos (specially the blue/green deployment as it was quite hard see good docs o it), I myself had to edit provided cloudformation files and IAM policy json docs

Very helpful and thorough. Not an easy subject if just starting out in AWS but good if you've had some experience with docker and bask AWS services.

This an excellent and complete course on using ECS and Fargate in the AWS environment. While taking the course I was able to convert a lambda that was running too long into an ECS task and to create an ECS service that runs continuously. I particularly liked the fact that many of the exercises use CloudFormation templates rather than simply clicking through the management console. These templates will provide a base for my continued development of tasks and services in AWS.

This is a great course! I learned so much practical information that I now use at work. Stephane and Gerd explain things in a very straightforward and logical manner. The progression of the course is great and I really appreciate the hands-on portions. There is no better way to learn this type of skill.

By Sergii Sypalo on 4/30/2021

Good course, as always, but wish all examples to be both GUI and CloudFormation-based, as for beginners in some topics it's better to do it manually, but with full understanding instead of running CloudFormation template with do all have lifting for you. Latter comes in handy when you want to redo or just practice again and understand most of the topic. Also For AppMesh specifically found that the interface is updated and requires additional input, so I recommend updating guides to the current GUI, as if at some time AWS discontinues the old interface, the course will become completely outdated. For now, that's fine to have some room for troubleshooting and learning that way, but for less experienced DevOps engineers it might be a show stopper. Your next course I plan to watch - EKS

This course helped me get the necessary confidence to start mastering AWS overall. I will certainly use ECS in production from now on. Great course!

Very detailed course with lot of focus on Handson. Also I liked the use cases picked for each Handson which helped to understand the concept better and apply it in day to day work

By John Ponthempilly on 11/30/2020

Excellent course, with well thought out theory and hands-on. This course is very well-structured. The topics are so relevant that, it can be used on our day to day job. Both the instructors, Stephane and Gerd has taken efforts to keep the course content and hands-on up to date. With AWS constantly adding features or extending existing ones, that is not an easy task. One example: Looks like at the time of recording reading ENV variables from S3 was not supported for Fargate. But looks like it is supported now, with ECS Platform version 1.4. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonECS/latest/developerguide/taskdef-envfiles.html Against excellent course. Thank you !

By Alejandro López on 10/8/2020

It helped me a lot in understanding the Amazon Fargate service and how to coupled with AWS CodePipeline, which was the main goal I had when started the course.
